We stayed in Pension Jeske last week for 2 nights while we were in Heidelberg. It's a 250 year old house, so don't expect the Ritz. Everything is clean and nice and....well, old. I mean, don't expect flat screens and new flooring everywhere, but at the same time, it's a really nice place. Martin, the owner, is also very good...

Pros: -great location, close to everything: castle, market plaza..etc -free wireless internet -cozy beds -clean bathroom -owner (Martin) was very friendly and helpful Cons: -not-so-good sound insolation (the building was kind of old I guess)

There really is no other option in Heidelberg if you're after a top spot at the right price. At backpacker hostel prices you get privacy and cleanliness right in the centre of town from a friendly an efficient owner. We travelled to Heidelberg by train so we caught a route to the Altstadt Station rather than the HBF. From here...

Martin , the owner very helpful, with local knowledge and places to eat at . The family room ( 2 connected twin rooms , with a bathroom ) was comfortable . Unfortunately the previous guest had ignored the no smoking rule , and left a lingering cigarette smell , which Martin had been unable to eliminate ( it was freezing...

We were very happy with Pension Jeske! Martin Pfeffer's service (and English) was superb, friendly and accommodating. Martin is a one-man operation and is not at the hotel all the time, so you need to be somewhat self-sufficient. The pension is authentically 250 years old and has a lot of charm. Rooms were small, as one would expect for a...

Starts at 7:30am everyday. And it is LOUD! The rooms were cheap and clean, but the construction unbearable. Verify if it is still going on before you book.

We spent only one night here and were very happy with the room itself, which was quite clean and charming. Although we shared a bath, no one else seemed to be there so we had it to ourselves. The hotel could not have a better location, about half a block to the main square of enchanting Heidelberg. The cost of...

I read this website before booking Pension Jeske, read about Martin and how interesting the place seemed. It did not disappoint in the least. First thing is to understand the Heidelberg train station is quite far from the medieval center and, therefore, from Pension Jeske. Don't walk, and if you are currying bulky luggage forget about public transport and just...

A perfect location in the heart of Heidelberg's Old Town area and a very reasonable price are Pension Jeske's strongest points. We thought the rooms were above average--nicely decorated and clean. Martin was very friendly and helpful. The downsides were that we had to share a bathroom (because we were coming in the busiest month, Martin was unwilling to let...
