Villa Marstall is a lovely, sparkling clean, small hotel right on the main road along the Neckar River. Terrific staff all around. We found the air conditioning to be marginal, but we luckily had cool nights and open windows. It might be better when it is hot. This former private home has a stately and welcoming atmosphere and not much...

The location is wonderful, the staff were wonderful and very friendly, the romm was comfortable except that the aircon was too cold and you could not adjust it. There also were no spare blankets in the room although one was provided as soon as we asked the next day. Plenty of sockets. Really well soundproofed from outside. Fantastic location on...

A small charming hotel right along the Rhein River. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. We reserved the superior room which is on the third floor and has a view of the Rhine river and the only room with the castle view. The views from this room are fabulous. Room has dormers so if you're tall, it might not be...

This was a great stay in Heidelberg. I stayed in room 14. Location right on the edge of the old city is fantastic. The rest of Heidelberg is a forgettable example of mid twentieth century architecture, but this hotel is right in the middle of what makes Heidelberg special (to me at least). The hotel location was fantastic. I hate...

A really well organised and efficient hotel. Set in a busy, noisy and congested part of Heildeburg the owners have done their utmost to make it work. Of course the parking is dreadful but they try hard to help even offering a discount in one of the public car parks and were very sympathetic when we actually parked in the...

Our room was beautiful and overlooked the Rheine River and it was very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. But the fact that we had to park 20 minutes away deters me from coming back. The parking and driving in Heidelberg is horrible and frustrating.

At check-in, service was not friendly. Room 42, Junior Suite, was uncomfortable, due to the sloped roof, we were required to 'duck' to get into the bathroom, to get into bed, & to walk around. No regular windows, & very strong, perfume smell in the bathroom & elevator were also unpleasant. At check out, the staff argued with our complaint,...

We were in Heidelberg and stayed at this hotel, the room in the picture. The room itself was very nice and the property is clean. The location is decent and there was a nice view of the river. Two issues however- The parking is ridiculous. It was rainy and the walk to the recommended parking garage is 15+ minutes. Plus,...

Our family stayed here for two nights. It was hot (~33C) so the air conditioning was welcome. The hotel faces the river, close to the Alte Bruecke, the Hauptstrasse in the Altstadt, and the castle. My son and I took a run up in the hills across the river, just a short distance from the hotel. Our room (#11, shown...

My wife and I and our two young children spent two nights in this hotel. We enjoyed the location, the rooms, the breakfast and the friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to a family or individual traveler as a great place to stay in this beautiful city.
