Our house - with one of the longest and richest traditions in the city of Ansbach - is located directly at the edge of the town when travelling from the direction of Nuremberg (B 14). Our history dates back until 1735 and is being managed since 1914 from the Sturm family. In the year 2014, we have been awarded the three-star-Superior classification.

Our restaurant is arranged in a typical franconian style and spreads a cosy atmosphere. As best-qualified professionals, we personally care for your comfort and service in a familiar style. Our cuisine offers mainly regional dishes in a rich variety, enriched with regional seasonal specialties for everyone's taste. Of course, our chef de cuisine loves to take care of your special wishes.

After extensive expansion work, you can now choose from 44 comfortable rooms and suites for every demand. Relax in our new wellness area with three different saunas, lounge and grotto.

I have stayed here a couple of times now, both at the last minute as overnight stays while passing through. Easy parking outside he hotel, check in is a breeze they do not ask for anything in advance, just give you the key! The rooms are of a good size and clean, nothing else needed for one overnight! The restaurant is German and again relaxed and comfortable with a good selection of 'Franken' wines. I'll use the hotel again in the future.

The room was very big, which was a nice surprise. It was clean, had a couch, plenty of closet/storage space too, plus a good sized desk. Our room had a balcony, which was a nice bonus. (Not all rooms had them though.) The bed was very firm, not the most comfortable, but not terrible. The room and bathroom were clean and well-maintained overall. The bathroom had a great amount of counter space. Breakfast was good; nothing fancy or out of the ordinary, but normal meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, fruit, etc. There's also a restaurant, but we didn't have anything but breakfast. Parking is also very convenient and easy on the property. The location is fine if you have a vehicle. It didn't seem to be walkable to anything, but that was not relevant to our needs.

Overall it was a really good stay. The elevator was a little slow at times and would leave people on upper floors hanging because it would stop at lower floors first, fill up and then come up to the higher floor with no more room for anyone to fit in. It was odd. But not a big deal.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, fabulous free breakfast with fresh fruit, breads, eggs, bacon etc. Dinner was outstanding! Only downside was the very small shower and no air conditioning but beautiful surroundings and can’t beat the friendly service. Everyone speaks English and is very helpful.

Very disappointed with this hotel due to the attitude. Rooms are tiny and you can hear next door occupants. Great experience if someone uses the hair dryer especially at night, it's a very loud noise. I got woken up by it and asked hubby to check if everything is ok. Had the owner knocking on door telling me off. Why I didn't call myself if I speak German! Well I didn't think anything of it because they got so many Americans. He was really rude. I'm pregnant 8 months and me speaking German didn't help. I felt like I'm bothering them when I asked for help - our door didn't lock properly,.... Problem after problem and no friendly face to make our stay enjoyable.

Everything about this hotel is just brilliant!

We found this by absolute chance late at night - after we had left another 4 star hotel in Rothenburg which was not at all what we had expected… But this hotel was just superb!

Although we arrived very late, they were all so very accommodating to still prepare food for us.
We had dinner there which was absolutely fabulous! And the staff where just lovely.. It seems to be run by a family which was great to see.
Prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent.

The room is spacious and has every requirement possible. It was extremely comfortable and very clean.

Breakfast was served in a beautiful well lit room

Parking was excellent.

And YES overall the whole experience in this hotel was fantastic.

We were a party of 5 for dinner on a Tuesday night at 6:30 pm. We had reservations and were seated immediately. This is a very welcoming, inviting, and cozy restaurant. Service was wonderful – very professional, but friendly and accommodating at the same time!

I ordered Jagerschnitzel mit kartoffelsalat (with potato salad). The dish usually comes with fries, but they gladly substituted potato salad for me. It was absolutely delicious!

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Two members of our party are regulars, and it was very impressive when our Server was able to tell one of them what he ate the last time he was there!

The room was clean, warm, and a good value..free wifi!!!..but a bit on the small side. Property was built a hundred years ago, and is near the 34, but it is updated, and the updates preserve the historic charm of the inn. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous, with a generous pot of coffee. Would definitely stay again

I have traveled here twice for business trips and will return again. The rooms are comfortable and well cared for. The family and staff are quite welcoming. I looked forward to my evening meals in the restaurant, especially the seasonal pumpkin soup. This is my go to hotel in Ansbach when working at Katterbach.

I stayed here 2 nights in May. I had to check in late and even though the front desk was supposed to be closed, someone met me there and was very polite. The room, and entire hotel for that matter, was very, very clean. The room was spacious and I had a private balcony. It was well worth the money. I ate dinner in the restaurant and it was one of the best meals I've had in years. It was a little pricey, but very good. The whole stay was just so relaxing. Parking was good and the internet was free and performance was good. I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. Oh, the breakfast was awesome too, and included in the room rate.
