Relax and be refreshed in this quaint hotel in beautiful Berchtesgaden. The rooms are comfortable with a balcony that opens to spectacular alpine glory. The breakfast buffet is delicious with fresh butter, freshly squeezed orange juice machine and a marvellous tea selection. Loved the complimentary tea buffet from 2-5pm where you just pay for your beverages. The pumpkin ginger soup was perfect on a cold winter afternoon and the pastries were inviting. Would have liked a kettle in the room and for the complimentary bottles of water to be topped up each day. Also missed hair conditioner and other small bathroom amenities. The hot whirlpool and sauna in the Wellness Centre were great! The heated indoor and outdoor pools were still a little too cool for us. A lovely stay and we would love to be back again.

My wife and I had this 4 nights stay in hotel alpenhof. Everything was perfect from welcome until we had to leave. We would be delighted coming again for another stay !! . We appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel overall, the kindness of the team, the meals in the restaurant (breakfast and dinner). I particularly liked the outside swimming pool. On top of it the location is really nice: nice view on mountain and forrest, quiet place.

We were looking for a destination with spa facilities and hiking and noticed the great reviews for Alpenhof on tripadvisor, so booked 4 nights. Since we would not have a car I also chose the daily half-board option for 16 Euros per person, but didn't expect too much. What we got for our money was an outstanding spa facility, incredible view of the Watzmann mountain from our spacious room, friendly service and very good food. We didn't expect a full salad bar and then four course meal prepared by a kitchen that knew what it was doing. We really can't say enough about every aspect of our stay and my wife loved the spa services she ordered. As an American you do have to get used to baring all in the sauna and steam rooms, thanks to our country being settled by Puritans! Walking around the Koenigsee area, it's surprising that this area hasn't been "developed" and remains much as it was 40 years ago, which to us was wonderful. Our stay cost us about $275/night, including breakfast and dinner, which seemed ridiculously little to pay for what we got. Such a wonderful place and bargain to boot!

I didn't want to leave this hotel, it suited us to a tee. The room was clean and comfortable, our balcony overlooking Berchtesgarden was amazing. We took half board and the food was plentiful and delicious, we were never hungry or disappointed with our meals. The pool and spa area was the perfect temperature and we used it often every day. The gardens are beautiful. The hotel and dining area is beautifully deorated to look like a lodge. Parking is easy and I can't say how happy we were with this hotel. Highly recommend.

Alpenhof , Alm & WellnessHotel, Schönau am Königssee from June 13 - June 16, 2019 once you reach Berchtesgaden, keep on going in the direction of the Königssee, just before the Arial Gas Station drive up the hill to the Alpenhof. We had a fantastic stay here. The Alpenhof provides a typical “ Bavarian” ambiance which we love. At the Hotel there is plenty of parking available. Once we checked in, the receptionist walked us to our room No.27… This is a very large room, decorated in the “ Bavarian Style” which makes it so homy. A very clean Room ( se my photos ). The room also has a large living room attached to it, with a door leading out to a balcony and enjoy a mountain scenery setting, such as a meadow, a forest and a terrific view of the mountain “ Watzmann “, further to right there is another mountain to be seen. The carpet in the room was clean, plenty of closet space, a Mini- Bar, a double bed with snow white clean bedlinen ( two good separate mattresses ). We slept well here. It is a very quiet room, we had excellent Maid Service during our stay and the room was made up early which we appreciated. The room has a desk, flat screen TV by Samsung with a large screen. The bathroom is rather small, it also is very clean, has a magnifying mirror, hairdryer, amenities, clean white towels, a shower / tub combo. You will be pleased with this accommodation. The Wellness area, which we did not use, (we toured it ) is huge and from what I saw First Class….. There is a good breakfast selection available in the dining room, we always came early, it is less crowded, there are tables for Two along the window which is nice instead of being boxed into a narrow space with a table for Two and people you don’t know on your left and right. The Coffee for our taste is NOT so good, therefore I ordered espresso to wake up which the waitress / waiter served. You also can have Cappuccino. The little orange paper napkin is a joke, since you are a Four Star Resort, let’s go first class and provide a linen napkin for your guests. The staff we encountered during our stay is friendly and accommodating. Since I am a photographer Ms. Sylvia at the reception was most helpful to me, since she went the extra mile and mapped out several scenic routes for me to take great photos of the beautiful landscape in the area. Thank you Sylvia. At 2:00 PM a high tea is served in the dining room / terrace, a very nice touch, you just pay for your beverage. We had a great stay at the “ Alpenhof “ , and after three visits to this beautiful area over the years we had great weather with blue skies and puffy clouds, what a blessing this was.. We highly can recommend staying here. Keep up the good work.
