We stayed in the Rokokohaus Hotel in Erlangen in August 2006. It is a 10min walk (flat) from the main train station and situated in central Erlangen, yet quiet at night.

The rooms were fine - clean and tidy, but nothing amazing. The brekfasts were excellent and the staff friendly and fluent in English.

Overall would reccomend.

I thought this place was good but not exceptional. The breakfast is VERY good and the dining room itself is very nice and cozy. The people were VERY helpful and friendly.

However, I think the rooms are dark and, since it was hot at the time, I felt the room (which is without any air conditioning) was a little stuffy. The bathroom is clean. Maid service is good.

If you pay for a parking spot, I have to warn you about some things. It's an indoor garage around the corner from the hotel. It is literally UNDER the building. You take a right at the next light and up a short way on your right is the entrance. Your room key opens the garage door and you insert it on your left as you face the garage door. Drive slow as it is very cramp down there.

Also, to leave the indoor garage area there is a chain hanging down from the ceiling right there at the exit. Give it a good pull and the door will open. None of this was explained to me very well at check in.

Good hotel, hard beds, a bit short for tall people. Hot water in shower touchy. Still, for the downtown area, not terribly expensive, comfortable, and near enough train station and centralplatz to be very desirable. Breakfast was ok, kind of sparse, but edible.

Only warning is that sometimes the hot water (demand heater) will turn itself off when you're showering. Wooo! You can fix this by opening the sink hot water just a tiny bit. Seems wasteful, but less freezing.

Small but clean and quaint room in house across from the main hotel. This 300 year old building is part of the charm of Erlangen. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are air conditioned and the shower is western style. I would stay here again.

Personnel is very nice and helpful, location is also nice. So it's a pity to write a bad review.
Rooms are very small. Everything is really small. This time I stayed in the annex where rooms are a bit mor spacy but still small.
Air was very bad. Smell was as if annex is opened just during peak periods an stays sealed for the rest of the year.
Two doors from the main house to the rear annex can hardly be opened with one hand and the other carrying some luggage.
Can hear anything that is going on next door: TV, snoring, shower.

Room ice cold, tiny and very uncomfortable; it was a single room with a 90cm bed, a tiny blanket, extremely narrow and very long, like an eery corridor. Although advertised as "available", there was no parking whatsoever anywhere near the hotel. Ended up leaving the vehicle in the no stopping zone, worrying about it being towed all night long. Staff did not care, "your problem, deal with it"

The room I had was old-fashioned. It was generally clean, and had a nice view towards Theaterplatz. The bathroom's layout was interesting, far deeper than wide, but with a decent shower. Breakfast buffet was all right.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are showing there age a little but are still fully functioning and should not put off the visitor. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast is typically Bavarian. There is not a huge spread but what is served is fresh and very nice.

Room Tip: We had a room at the front and it was quiet most of the time even though the beer festival was on.

I stayed in Rokohaus multiple times and each time I felt the hotel staff are really very nice. The place is quite so you can catch some good sleep after long travel. All the eateries are very near. If you want a refreshing beer just walk down to steinbach which is just 2 min of walking distance. Hotel staff know you like extended family and even if they meet outside they greet like old friends. Breakfast is just enough to kick start your day. Rooms are cleaned everyday. No hassles in check-in or check-out. Also, if possible they try to accommodate all sane requests. Really love the place.

The Location is very good to visit Erlangen, but the structure, the rooms and in particular the breakfast were not astonishig at all.
What is left from Rococo time is only the facade which you do not Rally enjoy in your room and the Name on the door.
