I was lucky to spend a long weekend with my friend in this beautiful boutique hotel in Munich s trendy Schwabing neighbourhood and in walking distance to the English Garden. The signature of the wonderful host Renate Schlemmer can be seen and felt in every detail. The rooms are all individually decorated and combine modern elegance, a hint of colonial...

Although this hotel doesn´t look like much from the outside it is much better upon entering. The staff were very friendly and helpful which makes it difficult to point out things about the hotel that were not so nice. The hotel itself does a good job of trying to blend old and modern aspects. For instance our room was spacious,...

We stayed in Das Nikolai for two nights whilst visiting friends in this lovely city. The hotel is in a beautiful part of the city great for everything - shopping, food, transport and so on. The staff were so helpful and the breakfast was just the best ever - a real variety of choice and endless freshly brewed coffee. The...

Pros: This hotel is a great choice if you are looking to stay somewhere other than the city centre. The neighborhood is vibrant enough to be interesting with plenty of shops and restaurants. And,the U-bahn is right around the corner. Getting anywhere is a snap. The breakfast is your typical European buffet and the staff is very helpful. Cons: The...

I have been at the hotel at least twice this year. Both times I found the staff, friendly, engaging and always helpful with directions and restaurant choices. They have smaller rooms and large ones. The breakfasts are great with fresh cooked eggs and a wide buffet selection including bread/croissants etc. All included in the room price. All in all a...

This was such a nice place in Munich, in a trendy local neighborhood. Fantastic restaurants nearby and just close enough to pretty much everything. Awesome breakfast, great room overlooking the small park across the street, nice people who work there. So much better than staying in Marienplatz with all the other tourists.

The hotel is located in the northern part of Munich, about 2km from the Main Station and adjacent to the English Garden. The hotel occupies a four story building with a small restaurant and bar at ground level. There is also a Mexican-themed Irish pub downstairs but separate. The hotel is accessible by public transport U-Bahn with stations only a...

Although the rooms are small, this boutique hotel is in a great location. Breakfast is not extensive but more than adequate. Would have appreciated a ceiling fan with the unusually warm weather for September and shampoo instead of only body wash in the shower even after a request to the maid. However, greatly appreciated early check-in after international flight

This little boutique hotel had owners who understand needs of international travellers; Last minute booking and late check out was accommodated for including great recommendation where to eat for our one night stay. Conveniently located with ample parking around in the happening Schwabing area, this quiet gem of a hotel surpassed our expectations. Breakfast spread and quality was very satisfying....

We spent a night there in an in-out trip to Munich. The Nikolai is smack in the middle of the action, yet far enough from the Marienplatz's madness. Great restaurants abound within walking distance. We will definitely consider this a first choice for our next trip. Make sure to ask for a courtyard facing room. The street cleaning at 5:30am...
