The hotel is rather modern/Scandinavian in design, and nicely appointed, less than a 5-minute walk from the train station —so convenient! The beds and pillows were comfortable (even without taking advantage of the opportunity to choose a special pillow from their menu). The breakfast was hearty, with a wide range of options and friendly service. The other hotel staff were even more friendly and accommodating, if that is possible! A special thank you to Joshua, who took care of our group in the evening, serving drinks and providing information and support. If I am fortunate enough to return to Nuremberg I would never stay anywhere else but the Hotel Victoria!!

Dear ronnit2014, Thank you for your kind words and recommendation! We're thrilled to hear that you had a wonderful stay. It means a lot to us that you enjoyed the comfort and amenities of our private hotel, the perfect location in the city center as well as the expertise of our international team. Friendliness and competence are important for us to guarantee the typical “Hotel Victoria”-service and we therefore thank you for acknowledging the service of our colleague Joshua in particular! Your kind words have already been forwarded! If you visit Nuremberg again, it would be a pleasure for us to welcome you back! Kindest regards Sara Ruffato and the Hotel VICTORIA Team

We stayed at a different hotel a couple of years ago and decided to change with this visit. There was nothing wrong with that hotel except it was much more expensive than Hotel Victoria. Plus this time we were arriving by train from Munich and you really cannot get any closer to the Nurnberg Hbf. You literally walk down a covered tunnel up a slight incline and turn left. The instructions from the website and the email that they send you are crystal clear. Staff was wonderful and spoke perfect English. You do have to show proof of immunization. We were able to get a Green Pass even as a US citizen by getting a Swiss Pass first. The Christmas Market was cancelled just before we got there but there is so much else to investigate in this lovely walkable city. We decided to chase Christmas markets during our German stay. For instance we went to Strasbourg from Munich and we decided to take a quick train ride to Frankfurt. We like so many had to constantly adjust to the situation that changed by the day from city to city. We just made sure that we booked hotels that had an option for a 24-48 hour option for cancellation which costs more but gives you more options.
Room was large and comfortable. Good and free WiFi (hard to believe that there are still places that charge for WiFi ). Breakfast was included and was substantial. When they found out we were checking out early the next day for our trip to Prague, since the breakfast room was not open yet, they actually prepared a take away breakfast with 2 sandwiches, fruit and coffee. Would definitely stay with them again. Enjoy.

Dear RjessMMM, Thank you so much for this lovely review on Tripadvisor! We are glad to hear that you have enjoyed the prime location of the hotel within the city and were able to encounter a memorable time in Nuremberg. We are a privately run traditional hotel with over 100 years of history. Built in 1896, our central location at the gateway to the old town, our listed building and the hospitality from our warm, individual team make for a unique feel-good experience! It is our pleasure to surprise our guests again and again with that special something and to give them an unforgettable stay. We are pleased that we were able to convince you with our newly created breakfast! And what could be nicer than being pampered by our service at the start of the day and enjoying our breakfast tapas. The colleagues were delighted to receive your wonderful feedback - thank you very much! Another thank you for the compliments about our team! We put individuality into focus and we care for each one of our guests and for their personal interests ... in a very individual way. We always try to give our best to make your stay at the Victoria an unforgettable memory and to make you feel comfortable at all times! If you find another occasion to travel to Germany, we are looking forward to being your hosts again! Best regards, Sabine Martin & the Hotel Victoria Team

My brother rated this the best hotel on our 4 week Europe holiday.
Location is great, minutes from the Hauptbahnhof ( tip, look for the middle underground tunnel to avoid having to navigate lots of cobblestones ) and a 20-25 minute slow walk to the Burg.
Rooms were compact but plenty of room for luggage and also a desk and chair plus stool. Acrylic wood floor. Whole hotel is beautifully renovated - try out the stairwell. Exceptionally clean with a person servicing rooms on each floor who also delivered an iron very quickly and efficiently ( already filled with water). Windows open though we had a view over the nearby museum and the patrons at the restaurant in the square were a little noisy at night so we used the aircon.
Breakfast buffet was included in our tariff and excellent variety with some traditional dishes. All staff we interacted with at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
Only issue is this is not a hotel for anyone with mobility issues. While there is a lift, there are already about 5 stairs up to the reception from the street. The doorway to our bathroom was also incredibly narrow, and there was a very high step up to the bathtub shower. Otherwise I would highly recommend it.

Dear annemaried351, Thank you very much for giving us this detailed and extraordinary positive feedback. We cannot emphasize enough how happy we are to hear you enjoyed your stay with us this much! Our Hotel VICTORIA is a privately run traditional hotel with over 100 years of history. The central location at the gateway to the Old Town, combined with the historical heritage since 1896 and the warm hospitality of our international team, contribute to make your stay a unique feel-good experience! We are therefore very happy and motivated to make you feel comfortable at all times! As a listed historical building we are subject to many regulations concerning remodeling measures. For this reason some of the bathrooms might be a little bit smaller than others. Nevertheless we are constantly investing in renovation works and we also offer a choice between 7 room categories with different features. Of course we will be happy to assist you with the reservation of your favorite room category next time. It would be a pleasure for us to welcome you again soon and wish you all the very best till your return! Kindest regards Sara Ruffato and the Hotel VICTORIA Team

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Nuremberg. The location is perfect for seeing the old town and the train station is steps away from the hotel. Our room, although small, was perfect for us. Heated towel racks and floor in the bathroom were very welcome in the chilly mornings. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices and made to order egg dishes. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will choose the Victoria Hotel again when we come back to Nuremberg. It was a wonderful stay! Danke:)

This is definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in from the convenience to the rail station to the town within minutes. We came by rail and found our hotel easily as it is right next to the station thru the tunnel and the outer wall. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and helped with storing our luggage as we were a little early to get into our room, we stayed 4 nights and check in/out service went smooth. Once in our room which was on the top floor I found it to be comfortable, minimalistic and roomy enough for all our luggage. Loved the heated floors in the clean and nice sized bathroom and water pressure was good for the sink and shower. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet at night. A couple of evenings we had a drink from the bar room and there is also a common sitting area up the stairs next to bar room that gives you a little more room to enjoy your wine and relax. Maximillian the bartender was exceptional and really enjoyed the delicious chip and fresh zucchini dip he brought us. The breakfast was excellent and the wait staff were really attentive. There was plenty of food and variation of different things to chose from. One morning I made sure we got the table by the Christmas tree. Really enjoyed staying at Hotel Victoria and would definitely stay again!

Nice hotel, value for money. In walking distance of city centre attractions. Indian restaurant opposite hotel is recommended. For parking:pull up the car to on the pavement to the hotel entrance, and ask for a coin+ instructions for the spaceous garage roughly 300 meters further (cost 14 Euro).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Victoria. The building was bright, clean and quiet with appealing modern decor and good views. Our loft room was well appointed, with air conditioning, a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom featuring a large walk-in shower stall with a rainfall showerhead.

The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of fresh offerings, and the service was very attentive.

Secure, paid underground parking was just a short walk away, and not inconvenient.

The hotel is on the edge of the Altstadt, in the most picturesque part of Nuremberg: it's just a short walk to the Hauptmarkt, and a little farther to the Imperial Castle. There was plenty of choice for restaurants, shopping and historic sites in walking distance. The Handwerkerhof is right next door, and offers a wonderful shopping experience.

We would definitely stay at Hotel Victoria again on a future visit to Nuremberg.

Pros:
• location! just perfect if you travel by train • rooms are very clean with no odor (the odor of cleaning chemicals is typical for many hotels) • interior is good – I personally like orange accents
• the bed is very comfortable, there're little and large pillows • modern and bright light in the room
• there's air condition of a famous brand • very good noise isolation of windows • TV has channels in English (news) • the staff is very friendly and polite • if you ask they will give you an electric kettle.
Cons:  we booked the room in advance, arrived at a quarter to 11a.m. The check-in time is 15:00, but our room was free and ready to move in. The hotel could have just let us check in without extra fee, but they preferred to make us pay extra 25 Euro. In a completely similar situation in a Munich hotel, we also arrived earlier, the room was not ready. We were asked to wait while the room was prepared, but in the meantime they fed us breakfast for free.  the lack of essential information inside the room: e.g. TV channel menu – not to list all 100 to find anything, or even the check-out time. Ok, we got a kettle, but there are no cups in the room. There are glasses, but they are dangerous to use for boiling water. It's good that we had our own mug for that.  The height difference on the floor in the shower is 16 cm. This is quite a lot for older people to trip when getting into the shower. What to grab onto if a person loses balance? There's nothing to grab onto! I recommend attaching a special handle to the wall - they are inexpensive and can save people from injury.

Dear borisi860, We appreciate the time you took to write us this detailed review about your stay at our hotel. It's nice to hear that you enjoyed your time in Nuremberg. First and foremost, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the prime location of the hotel within the city and its proximity to the main train station. Our VICTORIA hotel is privately owned and has a history of over 100 years. It is our strategic location at the entrance to the historic center, as well as the historic structure dating back to 1896, that contributes to making your stay a truly memorable and enjoyable experience. We also greatly appreciate your kind words about our overall atmosphere and particularly about our staff. It is essential for us that each of our guests receives an individual type of service. Our team puts in all the effort to make you feel at home in a welcoming, friendly and inviting environment. Our check-in and check-out times are designed to ensure a smooth process for all our guests. Should the arrival time be different from our regular check-in time, we do our best to accommodate our guests' requests. This depends on if there is a room available at the time of registration. Furthermore, December is one of the busiest tourist months, which means that our hotel is always booked out for the majority of the days in this month. Our high guest service is reflected in the fact that we were able to provide an early check-in while maintaining our high standards during this challenging period of time and for this reason we require a small extra charge. Our hotel is moreover a heritage-listed structure dating back to 1896, which means it's subject to numerous rules regarding renovations. Notwithstanding, we're constantly putting money into upgrading our facilities to ensure the highest level of comfort possible. We also strive to maintain a harmonious balance between our extensive history, our cultural heritage, and the latest technological advancements. We have already upgraded our room televisions, and we will conclude the connection to the internet within the upcoming months to ensure that our TV service can be fully utilized by our guests. We are deeply sorry if you couldn’t find this information in our room. We will undoubtedly prioritize the enhancement of our television offerings and the accessibility of our online guest information folder. If you have any questions or need any help, our front desk staff is always happy to help you. We sincerely appreciate your detailed and thorough review. We're looking forward to taking all the listed issues and suggestions into serious consideration and trying to make our guest experience even better, also thanks to your input! We're hoping that, aside from your thoughts and observations, you felt welcome and comfortable all the time. It's very important to us that each of our guests has a unique and special experience. Our entire team works tirelessly to make you feel at home in a welcoming, friendly, and warm atmosphere. We hope that you felt the same way, and if you have the opportunity to return to this charming city, maybe in the summer, we would appreciate it if you could give us another chance to make you feel completely satisfied. Kindest regards, Sara Ruffato & The hotel VICTORIA Team

We stopped over on our way from Berlin to Stuttgart; something we had planned for a while. The hotel is right on the edge of the old town city center, yet well accessible by car. The hotel garage is in a cross street some 100 meter away. Standard hotel rooms are small (… historic building!) but thought through and in very good shape. The bathroom was equally small, shower size at the limit; but the bathroom was in very good shape, probably quite recently renovated. The hotel dealt with Covid in a very professional, yet friendly way. Breakfast was outstanding. Hot choices were served quickly and there was a lot of choice from a trolley; sort of like in business class in an airplane. The hotel seems to focus very much on developing good talent. Lots of friendly and young people everywhere, very understanding and extremely empathic. On a side note: Hotel apparently has their own bee stocks on the roof of the nearby museum and produces their own honey. - All in all a definite recommendation in Nuremberg!

Dear execpilot8138, Thank you so much for this lovely review! It is nice to read that your expectations were fulfilled and that you could enjoy your time in the historical old town of Nuremberg! We are always happy to do our very best to meet our guests needs. Due to Covid-19 we had to completely change our usual very extensive breakfast buffet. Instead we offer a breakfast selection that we serve at the table and also serve a large variety of Victoria breakfast tapas - we are glad that we could convince you with our newly created breakfast! We booked a room for 3 adults for 2 nights. At arrival at checkin, after checking all our documents of covid vaccinations, we were told our room was mistakenly given to other guests. They profusely apologized for this and offered us 2 rooms, which was a much better arrangement than 1 single room for 3 adults.
You really come to know if a hotel is good or not on how staff deal with issues, and this time they were really good offering excuses, glass of prosecco, and a new totally fine room arrangement.
Staff was amazing, very helpful, going the extramile in each of our interactions and requests. We were amazed by this fact. Even housekeeping staff was super nice.
Breakfast was very good, homemade, staff there was super helpful as well.
Rooms clean and sufficient in size, super good location near central station and within the city walls.
As a summary, very good value per money hotel with an amazing staff.
