The design of the lobby, room, and restaurant is beautiful. The room is quite spacious. I got the room at the corner, where i have to pass another alley which the light was off,and have to switch it on manually. I was quite afraid in the beginning. Another thing is staircases outside the bathroom, which is quite annoyed me. The breakfast buffet was worth of money, which is only 9.5euro. This hotel is near the old town city center. Overall this hotel is good.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I booked it last minute and my main concern was central location. I found the hotel to be an oasis of quality in an otherwise shady neighborhood. But more on that in a moment.

The hotel gave some pretty poor directions on Hostelworld.com. It simply says, "Metro (Subway) Stop 'PlƤrrer' just a 300m away from the hotel." What they don't mention is that you have to exit the subway, cross the street to Gastonhofer Hauptstrasse, follow that street until it ends, then take a left onto Bauerngasse, and follow that until you come upon the ArtHotel City. It took me at least half an hour to find, and I can speak German. I would've hated to be a non-German speaker trying to find it.

The area is also a bit sketchy. It's not somewhere I would feel safe walking in at dark, but during the day it's fine. Convenient access to the metro, and the metro is just two stops from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), making getting to anywhere in the city very easily. Buses at Plaerrer also run to the Doku-Zentrum, so you can visit the Nazi Party Rally Grounds very easily.

Now, the hotel itself. As I said, very modern art. Lots of whites, some abstract art, very rich mahogany furnishings. I was a huge fan.

The receptionist I spoke to did not speak English, unfortunately, but I think another receptionist I spoke to when I was checking out did - either way, I'd come prepared with a few phrases in German.

Internet seemed decently cheap but was only available via WiFi, so you need a laptop. Breakfast is not included, and I didn't sample it, so I don't know how it was.

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay. I'd probably stay someplace a little more central next time, but I have no complaints.

The location could be better. It is a neighbour that has few places to eat or drink nearby, around 21h almost everything was closed. Of course, you can walk 15 min to reach the centre, but I like the idea to have something nearby. The rooms were huge, beautiful with modern showers, however, the wall as very thin, we could listen even to the snower of the people in the next room. Good breakfast and nice staff. The biggest problem was, however, the 'free parking' - I booked this hotel especially because there was free parking. It was, in fact, a wasteland on the back street, behind the train rails, without pavement and that looked very creepy. We were a bit scare to leave our car there..

Hotel of Default, Discrimination

just avoid this terrible hotel, when they know you are in need, room supply gone less in the market , they will use some very small excuse to cancel your room, take your desposit and said it was a forfeit, and then resell your room in a higher prices.

they did not feel themselves are wrong and not answering to your email, they does not act like a proper establishment.

The hotel itself is in kind of run down neighborhood. Parking is on the street or what we were also told is we can park in a dirt lot and walk back here. ~10minute walk to Ubahn thru a hipster/artsy neighborhood. Booked 2 nights in "penthouse", only stayed 1, got a refund. No heat OR warm water, when we came to check-in they told us we had to wait because the maintenance man was fixing our lights and water heater, but upon trying to shower...ice cold water. 9eu for breakfast with an assortment of breads, cheeses and deli meats (have had free breakfasts that offer a broader variety of food [eggs, bacon, sausage, etc]). Free coffee. "Free" wifi but virtually non-existent in the rooms. First set of people at the desk spoke English very well, the girl we tried to get rooms switched or a refund spoke NO English (can't blame her when I don't speak German well) so it made interactions very awkward.

We have arrived to the hotel at 01:15 in the morning, the staff were very helpful and patient. Breakfast was very good and a lot of variety. The location is good because it is a 10 min walk to the old city also the hotel is close to the subway, if you wish to take the it.

The value is acceptable.

beatiful small hotel. Staff was very polite and spoke excellent english. It is located in a
quit side street so I could even sleep with an open window. Got a free upgrade to a double even though a had booked a single room since all singles were fully booked. The old town is approx. 5 minutes from the hotel. Wifi is free. Would definitely stay there again.

Thatā€™s how they work in this hotel. They attend it like a supermarket and leave you alone there. When you reserve here you must to know they have ā€œsupermarket hoursā€. We have a problem with the incredible noise of a water pump, and waited for the one in charge to come from his own home where he was sleeping, to switch it off and let us sleep. Without any apologize!!!
In our bedroom seems to be the kitchen, really food smelly.
Consider another where you donā€™t feel like stupid when you pay.

I have stayed at the ArtHotel City for 3 nights. Their rooms are nice, cosy and clean. The breakfast offers a wide range of food which you can eat from. There is always coffee and water free to take. It is located quite close to the city centre and train station.
