Detailed Reviews
It was a little out of the way if you were planning on walking but with U-Bahn on the corner not 1 minutes walk away, it proved to be more than easy, in fact probably easier than staying in the centre. The owners are exceptionally nice, pleasant, friendly people, incredibly helpful. The breakfasts are exceptionally generous and scrambled eggs are cooked fresh for you if you want them.
Our bedroom was a twin on the fourth floor, while tidy and in good order, a lick of paint here and there would have gone some way to help. there had clearly been a leak that damaged the ceiling and all it needed was redecorating. The general decor and art is great, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms spacious and clean.
I'm unlikely to go to Nuremburg again, I've been and seen what I wanted to do and see - the public transport is outstanding I might add and Nuremburgers are generally polite, helpful and amusing. Everything works on high level of trust too, something thats unusual here in the UK these days.
Don't underestimate or rule out this hotel. It's exceptional value for money, has everything you want and the public transport removes any obstacle to getting around. We never used a taxi once. AND it had free wifi which even the 5* Hilton in Berlin failed to provide! There is also a very reasonable Italian restaurant on the corner thats well deserving of your custom! Highly recommended.

We were welcomed emphatically by Thorsten and he was incredibly helpful in providing a map and directions for our stay. His English is excellent and he went out of his way to be accommodating; booking a taxi for our return journey for example. The room was very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The hotel is well-located because it is just out of the centre meaning that it is away from the noise of the city in the evening. The hotel is only a 30 second walk from the metro and then the metro takes you into the city centre in about 9 minutes - the trains are very regular, even on Sundays. We loved our stay here.

ArtHotel Nuernberg is located a 1 minute walk from the U Bahn station Muggenhof, and a 20 minute ride from Central Nuernberg. This hotel is a very old building that has been renovated to modern standards. As always, in reviewing this property, one must expectations in line with the price point of the property.
Upon arrival at the property, I was warmly welcomed by the owner, and was shown to a room which was small, yet tastefully decorated and cleaned to high standards. The complimentary wifi worked well, and there were several english speaking news stations on the television.
Available at extra cost was a good quality breakfast which included meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, and the like. Additionally, the owner offered to cook eggs, omelets, or other special requests that the traveler might have.
Beers and wines were also available at reasonable cost.
Of concern is that the hotel is 5 floors, with no lift. Travelers with motility issues should contact the hotel prior to booking to see if the traveler's issues can be accommodated.
All told, this hotel represents an excellent value for the traveler.

Superb hotel, great customer service, comfortable beds.
Interesting hotel, with locally created Art on the walls, individually styled.
Lovely enclosed walled garden to enjoy a drink from the honestly bar stocked with range of nice beers and wines.
Great connections to the metro station and good free on street parking right outside the hotel.
Local Pizza restaurant 3 minute walk offered good pizzas.

Stayed here recently with my wife and it was fantastic. The hotel looks even better than on the pictures and you realise that as soon as you walk in. It is run by this Thorsten and his wife, who are some of the nicest and most welcoming people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting - seriously tempted to start a fan club! :) Thorsten greeted us when we came and showed us around the hotel. One of our favourites was the spectacular beach-lounge secret-garden-style back terrace where chilling was a treat.
We emailed ahead and asked if they could accommodate my wife's gluten-free and dairy-free needs and they did so perfectly. They also gave us some fantastic recommendations for restaurants and sites to see and sent us on our way with a map of the city. Hotel is really well connected as the metro station is literally 20 metres away and it takes you just 5 minutes to get to the city centre.
The rooms were beautifully decorated, beds big and comfy, bathroom spacious and clean - it had a feel of a luxury 5* boutique hotel, which in all fairness is what it is!

I can only repeat what other reviewers are saying.
Thorsten is a lovely guy, w/ good English. What's more, he makes a great breakfast.
Free Wifi, 30 seconds from Muggenhof U-Bahn, plus a garden.
It is 4-5 stops from the centre, but i prefer this - being away from the tourist hubbub gives you space to think about what you've seen and done during the day.
I highly recommend this hotel.

The Art Hotel is a locally owned and operated hotel West of Nuremberg's center. As the name of the hotel hints, it is centered around art, and I was told by the host that his father (or was it his father in law?) had painted most of the art that decorates the hotel.
The host was very friendly and helpful, providing information and guidance as needed. The hotel features a small backyard where you can enjoy a drink before or after heading out for dinner. The rooms are fairly small, and I recognized that the sound insulation is not as good as you would hope. However, the comfortable beds make up for that, and I still had a great rest. Wireless internet access is free, but flaky and slow, which makes it bothersome for a business traveler. Yet, I'd prefer the Art Hotel over any of the nearby chain hotels at any moment, as it provides you with a very unique, welcoming and inspiring atmosphere.
Parking is available in front of the house and free. The hotel has no restaurant, but a good Italian restaurant is right at the end of the street, so just a minute of walking.

Our stay at Art Hotel was perfect. We were welcomed by the host and his lovely family and he gave us a detailed guide on what to do in Nuremburg. He even carried our two heavy luggages up five floors to make up for the fact that there is no lift in the building. There is free parking along the street and the underground is just about 100m away and the old town is just a couple of stops away. The room was beautiful and we had a comfortable stay. However, there are construction works going on nearby which makes for an early wake up call.

The ArtHotel was one of the best hotels that we stayed in while traveling through Germany. It is a mix of charming and hip - with abstract art decor. The staff was very friendly - the owner checked us in, and even made us fresh scrambled eggs for breakfast! There were three of us in the group, and we shared a small three bedroom space that was just big enough for everyone. Clean bathroom and linens. One of the best nights sleep that I had on our trip. It is literally one block from a train stop - perfect location. We traveled at night and felt safe in the neighborhood. The Hotel is easy on the budget, too! I would recommend this hotel to anyone - and will be back to stay during our next trip to Nurenberg!
