This is a basic hotel with pluses and minuses.
The good points include:
Good size rooms which verge on being apartments. Ours had a kitchen although with no pots, plates, cups or cutlery! Our colleagues did have equipment in their kitchens though so check before.
The rooms are spacious and in a cold February, warm and clean.
The hotel is centrally located in the pleasant heart of the city surrounded by shops and near a market which is great for lunch.
Breakfast is a buffet of rolls and cereals with meat, eggs and cheese.
Wifi works

Minuses are that the doors shut with a bang so it can be noisy and two nearby churches chime on the hour.
Curtains in the rooms do not shade light so bring an eye patch.
Our shower ran out of hot water after 1 or 2 minutes which they say they will look at.

Overall a pleasant hotel

The hotel is located 10 minutes (walk!) from the main train station in Augsburg, in old town, on the edge of the main pedestrian zone. Unfortunately, this makes the rooms quite noisy through most of the night (due to people happily wandering around on pleasant nights), especially with the windows open (no A/C, but this is fine). This is the main thing I did not like about this hotel, but no doubt many would love the location (and the nightlife) and would not mind the noise.

The building itself is fairly old (like most buildings in town), but my room (including the bathroom) was very clean and modern. It was very large even by American standards (rooms in Europe tend to be small). As in all other hotels in Europe I stayed at, the double bed had two single mattresses and two single blankets enclosed in a blanket case (no separate blankets or sheets); there was a shower, but no bathtub. The mattresses and the pillows were a bit thin/soft for my taste. There was no alarm clock...
