This hotel is probably one of the most beautiful places in this planet, I would challenge anyone to find a more idyllic spot than sitting on the patio of this hotel while the sun goes down. Add to this the most perfect of hosts in Otto, truly one of the finest gentlemen you could ever find on this earth, Otto is the most welcoming and most hospitable person you could find and makes any visit to this hotel truly special. The silence in the rooms is deafening and I the whole establishment oozes peace and quiet. I cannot recommend enough.

Everything was just perfect. The hotel was located within a walking distance from the town centre close to everything you need to see, the spacious room with a stunning view across the valley, the delicious breakfast, the service. The weather played along so we could walk around the walls and the medieval picturesque town, having drinks and meals in some of many restaurants and cafes.

This is a very charming small hotel run by very helpful people who take a great care of the guests as well as the hotel. Our room (on the groundfloor) was really lovely and big including the bathroom. The only tiny drawback was that when we were booking it, it stated it had a terrace which turned out to be a common terrace that anyone could use. Not many people did as we had direct access from the room. No big deal but it would be good to know.

A clever idea for the parking as the hotel has a barn a few steps away where we could safely park two cars.

Can only recommend!

We had a party of four so we had the separate building, an apartment but almost the entire house.
There were four bedrooms and three baths., all filled with antiques. All were very nice but I especially liked what what had to be the master bedroom on the third floor.
We even had a kitchen, washer and dryer and our own walled in garden!
Breakfast wasn't included with our apartment but for 10 Euros we included it so we wouldn't have to cook.
Very near the old castle grounds, the walking trail through the valley and Town Walls.
I highly recommend this place

My husband and I stayed at the Burg hotel one night, and were charmed by this quiet, clean and quaint hotel, tucked into Rothenberg's city wall. The breakfast area is overlooking the Tauber valley, with sweeping views all around. Wow! Such a peaceful, magical and relaxing place on a crisp winter day! The best part was chatting with Mr. Berger. Such a courteous and kind gentleman! Hotel Burggarten Palais is a sister hotel to the Burg-Relais du Silence and is located across the street from Burg, and offers delightful meals in its restaurant. We highly recommend these establishments.

Very nice proprietors, locally owned and ran. My favorite hotel in Rothenburg. At the edge of town overlooking the Tauber River. Breakfast room overlooked the valley. Couldn’t see the river for the trees but could hear it when outside on the back porch. Back is part of the ancient wall built around the city. Rooms were large and comfortable with great views. Breakfast included each morning with choice of eggs in addition to typical German breakfast. Didn’t want to leave. Otto was there to greet us every time we came or went.

Fabulous stay! Otto welcomed us and very attentive entire stay. Room beautiful and spacious, opened onto a large balcony area. Views and bird songs very nice. Breakfast upstairs, eggs if desired, pasty/fruit /juice/yogurt/meats and cheese. Parking for 10€ per night a short distance uphill, adequate but a bit tight for full size BMW wagon, of course the town really meant for waking.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our host, Otto, was an absolute gentleman. Parking was available and everything that we wanted to visit was within walking distance. Our room was right on the city wall with a spectacular view.

Stayed here for a special occasion and loved the spacious room - especially the door between the sitting area and the bedroom, which allowed us to get our daughter to sleep more easily. The room and the hotel itself were beautifully and tastefully furnished, and the breakfast room had a wonderful view. (Ordering your breakfast, down to the number of pats of butter, the night before was a bit odd, but a function of the times.) Great location, easy walking distance to restaurants and sights but tucked away from the standard tour group pathways.

Yet again we visited Burg Hotel. I have lost counts on how many times I have been here. A fantastic old hotel on the old wall of Rothenburg. The city is a marvel of a place with old buildings all over. The city is a must see, and Burg Hotel is a fantastic place to stay the night there. Free wifi and freezer in the room. Breakfast can be eaten on the wall if the weather is good. Parking garage for a small sum extra. Will be back again next year, I hope.

Absolutely lovely stay. It is a family run hotel and the front staff was ran by the father who is an absolutely lovely man. We were always greeted warmly and was a wealth of information and history. The room was very charming and quite large. We stayed in the basic double room and it felt far from basic. It was also quite clean. It is situated on the edge walls of Rothenburg and although we didn’t upgrade to have a valley view, you do get nice views from the hotel patio or the breakfast area. Highly recommend this hotel. Only downfall, is no elevator, but understandable considering the age. The hotel is charming throughout. It was a toss up between this hotel and Hotel Markusturm, which is owned by the son of the man who helps operate the Burghotel, so either way we were staying with this family. We were happy we chose this hotel though as it is a bit off the hustle and bustle of the town.

Hi, Unfortunately I am unable to comment on other rooms as we were travelling as a couple and are not familiar with Family Rooms at this hotel. If you can get a family room here, do so, as it is a superb hotel.
