Liked - Rothenburg ob der Tauber and hotel was well situated to access by car, while giving a little more rural relaxation. Restaurant somewhat limited (especially if gluten intolerant) but they're willing to work with you. They get a bit busy when dealing with one of their buses staying there.

Loved the location, the room, the quaint surroundings and the view of a typical medieval Rothenburg style house with a lush green hillside in the background. The breakfast had a lot of variety. The old town is a short drive away (a little less than 2km), you can park in a paid lot outside the wall and get in through... More

This is now the 3rd year we have stayed here and have already booked for next year. We love the peace and quiet of the hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, the breakfast is excellent. The staff are always cheery and helpful. Excellent.

My family of 3 stayed one night at Schwarzes Lamm in July. Our room was very clean and comfortable for the 3 of us. Not "modern" or updated, but very nice and comfortable. The exterior of the building is beautiful, flower boxes on the front and a nice outdoor patio for dining. The breakfast was the best we had at... More

Our family room was large and clean. The uphill walk to Rothenburg was pleasant and nicely shaded (I liked that it was "down" on the way back from town). Breakfast had a lot of nice tasty options. It was well-priced. We had dinner one evening on the patio. It was quite tasty.

The hotel has a great location: just outside the town, but at a very walkable distance. A nice small trail, starting in the same street not far from the hotel, will lead you straight to the historic center of Rothenburg. Staff of the hotel is very friendly and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Parking is behind the hotel and is... More

Great budget gasthof, however, far away from Rothenburg ob der Tauber city center. Good and clean rooms Excellent host and staff Good restaurant, too bad restaurant waitress is not up to standard (no drinks possible at bar, Sylvaner wine not available, no recommendations, no show of rest. bill for payment, moody face,...) Free wifi Great parking Nice if you like... More

If you are less inclined to pay extravagant prices for a central Rothenburg hotel, then this is your answer. Cozy place, very European feel. Good breakfast which was included and plain but comfortable rooms. Room 17 has a wifi router right outside the door and the signal was very good. You can do a scenic walk to Rothenburg or take... The restaurant at this hotel is not listed in trip advisor but it is very good! Excellent traditional German fare, and done very well, in fact the best we've had. Service staff are also excellent (English spoken as well), and the place was full of people when we were there adding to the ambience. Our kids had fun before dinner... More

We spent two nights and just loved it. The double room was just big enough for 2 and we had a view of the clock tower. The breakfast's were amazing and the staff was very friendly. It was a perfect distance from the old town, not too close to the crowds. Perfect access to walking and biking trails. The cleaning... More
