The Circus Hotel is located just a few steps away from a major subway station (Rosenthaler Strasse), easily accessible from the airport (one short transfer a couple of stops away), and close to most of the main landmarks & attractions in downtown Berlin. It is quite charming, and staffed with efficient & friendly workers who are knowledgeable, dynamic, and jovial....

The Circus Hotel really is that great! To say the staff is fantastic is an understatement. The restaurant is very nice, with an amazing breakfast buffet, another great value. My husband and I usually don't eat at the hotel where we're staying, but we chose the buffet all three mornings and even had dinner there one evening. The room was...

A cozy room right in the hub of the city, great access to all traveling points, night clubs, restaurants & most importantly very warm and friendly hotel staff! The Circus was indeed a pleasant stay, with all the basics right for a few days' visit to Berlin. You could strongly consider adding this into your holiday plan!

This is one of my favorite hotels anywhere! It's super-charming, well-situated and has a brilliant staff. Our expectations were high, therefore, when we arrived, family of four, to spend a few days in Berlin as part of a longer car trip ( re-doing a trip from 1991, actually). On arrival, we we told that due to some work in the Fabisch...

3 perfect nights at this great hotel. Cannot add any more glowing praise to this hotel then has already been said and would not hesitate in recommending to anyone wanting a comfortable and relaxing base to explore Berlin. Just goes to show that getting the basics right makes the difference.

Berlin is a funky interesting cool place - for young and old - and there is no better affordable accommodation that reflects it than the Circus in East Berlin. There is a hostel, a hotel and short stay apartments, all within walking distance of each other, that cater for all types of travellers. Never have I stayed in a place...

Added to helpful staff are things like free WiFi, free loan of a DVD player and various other thoughtful additions that made this a very pleasurable stay. The rooms are extremely comfortable, excptionally clean and very well maintained....

I travel a lot for work so am relatively picky about hotels but this is one of the best I have ever stayed in. We stayed for three nights for a weekend break. the hotel is clean, friendly and local for Alexanderplatz and the U-bahn. Additionally, the decor is tasteful and chic, and the bar/restaurant cool and relaxed. However, it...

I stayed in the 3 room apartment within the hotel and really felt at home here. The apartment was full of lovely design features, high quality fixtures, very well maintained, spotlessly clean, and had a fun and vibrant presentation. It was surprisingly spacious and even had two toilets. This was an ideal family (of 4) home for our stay -...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in a double with en suite. The room was clean and trendy. The bathroom was spacious and the shower head was amazing. The staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English. We were able to get discounted daily public transport passes from reception. The hotel is in a very trendy area near...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
