We have had the most wonderful stay, great amenities, fantastic staff. We stayed in an apartment complete with dishwasher and our family traveling with us stayed in the old building in a lovely apartment- nice and quiet and with washing machine and dishwasher. With so many awes places to eat nearby we didn't have breakfast at the hotel at all....

Stayed here for 12 nights during summer & had a ball. It's located in a very nice part of Mitte, a little walk away form the bustle of Hackescher Markt & Alexanderplatz. Rooms were pristine with the typical super comfy German style super king size beds. Hotel facilities are good. The buffet breakfast is very good & well worth getting...

The hotel is in a super location in the trendy part of "Mitte" near public transportation, galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Although I feel the price is a good value for Berlin, I was disappointed that they charged extra for a quiet room facing the inner courtyard. The decor is minimalistic modern. The standard double room is rather small, but the...

Amano was great! Beautifully decorated, great location, friendly staff proficient in English, great neighborhood (close to the hub of Alexanderplatz) and a small but comfortable room which was perfectly adequate given that we were on a sight seeing holiday! Only point to note is that the shower in our room was "open" (i.e. you can see a person showering if...

Room was very modern, included stocked fridge which can be used for your own things as you can remove the bottles without being charged. The bathroom is separated from the room by only a glass wall and no door. The bar upstairs was quite claustrophobic feeling and as they allow smoking indoors was quite smoky but I am a non smoker...

Just home from a 3 night stay here. Lovely hotel. Nice pleasant staff. Rooms were nice. Beds comfortable. Very quiet at night not like other hotels people banging doors and shouting in corridors. Wasn't a sound in it. Only thing was we were across from a construction site and started working round 7am but not hotels fault. Didn't eat here...

The hotel is stylish and nicely decorated. Rooms are very small and the shower/bathroom is not integrated in the bedroom (not really suited as a double room). Amenities are minimalist: no kettle, water, body lotion - only soap and hair dryer. Very limited space to put your stuff. Breakfast is great - as is location. Cleanliness is ok but not...

Dear Maria, thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. We regret, that the room was not what you expected. All rooms are equipped with a bathroom. Some of our rooms have an open bathroom. Our Apartments offer more space as well as a seating area and a kitchenette inlcuding coffee and tea facilities. We'll hope to see...

I stayed at the Hotel Amano from November 21st - 25th 2016. My husband and I stayed at this hotel in December 2009 when it was newly built and had a fantastic time, so were expecting good things again. We weren't disappointed! This hotel is very modern and minimalist, which I love. The rooms are very simply decorated with very...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
