Stayed here with a group of friend in July. Upon arrival they said they did not normally take groups which seem odd given that we had a two room one of which sleeps 8 and a little abrupt. The rooms are were extremely stylish and clean albeit no drinking facilities in the room or aircon which made sleeping on the...

Fun trending hotel in the former East Berlin... It's very close to Warschauer Straße U-Bahn station (basically across the road if you take the correct exit from the station). Love the vibe, there is a lovely well-decorated cafe as you enter the hotel. The reception area is a little further in staffed by amazingly helpful people. The floors where the...

This is just a gem of a place, friendly and enthusiastic staff, great bar/cafe/chillout space (including the courtyard) and fun rooms. Bit quirky, but still pretty friendly for everyone to stay there. I wish I had more friends with me to grab one of their big rooms! Our room was a bit small, but we knew that when we booked....

I loved living here. Been here for two weeks during summer 2011 as well. It's a mix between a hostel, hotel, club and a big cozy living room. It's located between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg...might not seem like a charming location at first...but today it is a perfect starting point for a night out - choose right or left on the...

Great details at this well planned and designed hotel. The room and bed were comfortable and suited our needs. However, it was incredibly warm at night, and a great deal of traffic noise in the mornings. The reception staff were friendly and polite. Amazing, if a little expensive, cocktails and a chilled ambience reflected the funky décor. People watching potential...

As several people have said, staff is nice and helpful. But when it comes to rooms, the value you get for 120 Euro a night isn't that good. No phone, no fridge, barely a place to sit and having the beds in an alcove you end up with very warm during the night. If you open the windows to get...

Michelberger is by far the coolest and most comfortable hotel I've ever been to. It was my first trip to Berlin and we stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in July 2012. The entrance to the check in counter is through a very laid back and stylish lounge area and bar so you instatntly get the cool vibe. People...

I booked a triple loft room at Michelberger hotel after seeing it featured in many blogs. I thought the rooms with big windows and lofty appearance looked so cool! When we arrived in the weekend we were informed that there was a problem with the key cards, they couldn't be coded, but there was always someone at the reception to...

This place is incredible, I really can't recommend it enough. I went with 3 friends and stayed in one of the 'Band' rooms, which was like something out of the selby. Very minimlist but comfy enough and absolutely HUGE, a perfect place to stay if you are in a big group and don't mind all sharing. From the moment we...

Loved the interior design of Michelberger - super fun, quirky and hip, just like Berlin. The room was basic, but very clean and comfy. We had a room that faced the courtyard, and it did get noisy at night. It didn't bother us too much, but if you're a light sleeper, might be best to request a room away from...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
