I stayed here with 2 female friends and upon arriving we were told that we were being split up into separate rooms - this was really disappointing and obviously not what we had paid for, however we had got to Berlin very late so we had no choice but to stay there for the night and find somewhere else in...

The hostel is located in Kreuzberg, a very nice area in Berlin with many restaurants and bars, 2 minutes away from the metro station. Staff is very friendly and can always help you with your stay or giving advices about Berlin. They have a nice, comfortable and cozy common room where you can relax and chat with other travellers or...

I moved here after staying at a party-hostel. This place was so chill and great place to meet people. It has a kitchen and a huge common area, you can't beat the price either. The hostel is an old building so it's not perfect. It's located in Kreuzberg, which is by far my favorite area in Berlin. The hostel is...

So myself and 3 friends stayed in the 6 bed 'Jenny' dorm with 2 strangers who we rarely saw. The beds were standard but comfortable and clean bedclothes are provided upon arrival. The only downside was that the curtains don't close propertly (at all) so once the sun comes up the room is glaringly bright. The staff were so friendly...

I don't understand the ratings of these reviews. Stayed in the 16-bed mixed dorm for a few nights. Immediately I walked into the room and around, I was not a fan. Old building. Musty smell in the hallway and weird odor in the room. If you arrive late, it might take some time for the front desk to answer. This...

This place was nice. Nice staff, huge common room, big rooms (needs a good renovation though). One let down, which is a huge one for me, is that I was eaten alive by bedbugs. When I told the staff, they said they had some way of getting rid of them, but nothing was done about it. I was ready scheduled...

Simple, work. Prices are pretty fair. The service is good, the beds are comfortable, great wifi, some free food to cook. Not fancy, but simple and in the good meaning. Now some random words to get to 200 characters :)

Great hostel in an easy location, relaxed vibe with a big social space to make friends. Roof terrace is also a treat, though it could do with a bit of TLC. Showers not amazing but apart from that we enjoyed our stay here a lot. Plus the Kreuzberg beer was really good and the bar was very reasonably priced.

We had a nice stay at comebackpackers - the room was clean and there was a very laid back atmosphere. Many of the other travellers there were also interrailing. The kitchen was well equipped and clean, and the dishwasher available made a huge difference to our stay. WiFi outside the lobby area was poor at best. The location was central...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Comebackpackers Hostel in Berlin Kreuzberg was created and is run by two friends who have travelled the world for many years. It is a hostel built by travelers for travelers. The Comebackpackers is not a Hotel-Hostel, its one of the few Hostel-Hostels in Berlin. We found a nice gap in Berlin and we changed into a place wich is now home for people away from home. The people come as guests and leave as friends. The Comebackpackers Hostel offers all comforts a backpacker needs. Beside the comfortable, well-lit and spacious bedrooms, the hostel provides a huge common room great for meeting new friends or for relaxing after a long day of sight-seeing or night of partying. There is also foosball, boardgames or a book exchange which keep you busy. The roof top terrace with a view over Kottbusstertor gives you the real Berlin Kreuzberg feeling. ... more   less
