While the atmosphere is generally appreciated for its modern amenities and welcoming vibe, and the rooms are recognized for their comfort and useful kitchenettes, some guests have called out issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

As usual we had a wonderful time at the Adina Hackescher Markt hotel. The room is great, beds are very comfortable, great room size with it’s kitchenette with enough utensils cutlery and dishes for us to manage. The service at the front desk was excellent. I especially want to thank Francisco and Janik (not sure about his name). The location is excellent. Walking distance to many museums and interesting sites. The s-bahn is a 2 minute walk and there are many trams and buses in the area. There is great shopping and restaurants in the immediate area. I have several minor complaints. We have stayed before at the Adina Hackescher and previously it had a washing machine. The apartments still have one but the studio doesn’t. When you come for a long stay that is very important. I understood that the Adina Checkpoint Charlie still has that in its studios. The breakfast was good, however in our previous stay (and at many other Adina hotels we have stayed in) the breakfast in fantastic. I would expect more for 23 euros a person. The kitchenette didn’t have a sponge, washcloth, dishwasher tablets. (I can’t remember if anything else was missing.) I had to ask them. There was coffee and tea, but no milk. We had to buy it at the supermarket. Four– the shower head in the shower stall is one of the cheapest I have ever used. For a 4 star hotel I would expect better. The other Adina hotels we have been at had better shower heads. We cooked almost every night, we didn’t need towels change every day, but the garbage bins should have been emptied out every day. Hot tubs weren’t working but sauna was. I read some complaints about the hallway carpets; our floor was excellent. The Adina hotel chain is great with its studios for couples, but the quality seems to have gone down a bit, we had issues in Hamburg Michel in the past winter also.

Dear Lepand, Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback on your stay at the Adina Hackescher Markt. We are very pleased that you had a great time with us again and especially enjoyed the room size, the comfortable bed and the great location. We are happy to pass on your praise to Francisco and Janek - it means a lot to us when our team contributes to a positive stay. We would like to apologise for the points that made your stay less than perfect. We normally provide small packs of milk in the fridge and we are sorry that this seems to have been overlooked in your case. We will remind our team to be more careful in future. Regarding your comment about the washing machine, we would like to point out that these are only available in the rooms from the One Bedroom Apartment category and higher. This information is also listed in our room description. We therefore recommend this category for longer stays. With regard to the whirlpools, we would like to inform you that these are no longer part of our offer. We regret that this did not meet your expectations and are pleased that you were still able to use the sauna. We will take your other comments, such as the shower and kitchen facilities and waste disposal, to heart and will discuss them internally in order to improve our standards. Hope to see you soon again! Best regards, Norman Fahl Relief Duty Manager

All facilities required to enhance you stay in Berlin
One bedroom apartment had two TV’s a good size open room and a bedroom -
Apartment had a cooker, fridge - kettle, microwave, washing machine & dryer -
Also had a small balcony- which was handy as it was soo hot
The bus , tram and train also on your door step - fabulous location
The bar looked really nice - but did not get a chance to try - as there is a couple of restaurants and bar within walking
Small supermarket also within walking distance
Only problem was my stay was not long enough (6 days)

When we made the reservation through the Andina website, we were informed that taxes and fees were €0. On the last line, the total was indicated in euros and a sentence that said “taxes and fees included”. When checking out, they gave us the receipt where, in addition to what we had booked on the website, they charged us taxes and fees.
It would be a good idea to increase the number of cleaning days when the stays are long. Additionally, it would be advisable to include more cleaning products and utensils, such as a kitchen cloth, a broom and a dustpan.

Adina Apartment Hotel Berlin Hackescher Markt came well recommended but didn't live up to the recommendations.
Upon checking in we were told that due to Adina’s new ‘eco’ policy, the room servicing policy had recently changed to being serviced once every 3 days, but we could ask for it to be serviced more regularly. Whilst I’m relatively OK with towels being changed every couple of days, this is an apartment, where guests can use the cooking facilities provided in the room. Meaning there could be smelly food containers left in the bin for up to 3 days, admittedly, we could and did ask for the bins to be emptied, but at €125+ per night, I would expect bins to be emptied daily.
The following day, we asked for the towels to be changed, and that wasn’t done correctly, as the Tea towel was not replaced and the bins were not emptied, surely, if house keeping staff are in the room to change the towels, a cursory check of the bins wouldn’t go amis?
The cooking facilities were adequate, a 3 piece dinner service, ok, except that there are only 2 dining plates, I’m imagine that the 3rd plate had been broken by previous guests, after all, breakages do happen, but again, a cursory check by house keeping, would see there was a plate missing.
The room had a kitchenette including a dishwasher, but not a ‘dish’ cloth, or dishwashing tablets. Coffee and sugar were provided, but no milk? I asked if we could have dishwashing tablets and some more coffee, which were willingly supplied, also creamer & sugar were offered, there was sugar in the room, but no creamer, by this time we had been and bought milk. If these are supplied as part of the service (again at €125 per night I’d expect this) then why weren’t these items provided by house keeping.
On the room servicing point, when we did ask for the bins to be emptied, we returned to the room, around 1830, we found our room unlocked, I.e. accessible to anyone that walked by. The locking bold had been drawn across, assuming by housekeeping to gain repeated access whilst emptying the bins, so when the door automatically closed, it was prevented from auto locking. We left the room around 10.30am, potentially, our room was left unlocked and accessible for up to 8 hours.
An abstrct point, nothing that affected the stay, but we were on the 5th floor, and the corridor carpets looked like they were 'water stained' from one side, looked untidy and it didn't present a good appearance.
We were also booked to stay again in December, but have now cancelled this booking and sought alternate accommodation.

The hotel is centrally located near Alexander Platz and Museum Island. The location is not entirely safe, especially in the evening and you are alone. It is in fact close to an S-bahn train station with several drunken vagrants wandering around the area. I also didn't like the attitude of the hotel staff, unwelcoming and courteous (they never greeted us when we met them at the entrance or at the hotel). In addition, cleaning is only provided every three days and therefore, if the length of stay is shorter, they are not carried out (!!!). Friday night I noticed that the lamp near the bed was not working but the receptionist told me that she could not help it because the technical assistance was not carried out on weekends and Friday night (at 6 pm) was already too late. When I booked, despite having carefully entered our details on the website of a major e-commerce company, the final receipt stated that my son was 0 years old instead of 13. This resulted in an unjustified price increase of 159 euros for the three days for which even the e-commerce company was not available to find a solution, leaving me surprised, since on the site at the time of booking the cost did not provide for this additional expense. The most amazing thing happened at check-out when they asked me for another 159 euros. I pointed out to them that this amount had already been charged (inappropriately for me) during check-in but only the intervention of the person in charge in the end meant that I did not have to pay another 159 euros (which would have brought the surcharge to 318 euros!), with one of the two receptionists insisting that I would still have to pay the tourist tax which on the contrary was included in the price. I have never experienced such hostile and unprofessional behaviour from hotel staff towards customers. A final note concerns breakfast which is charged at 15 euros and does not even include a cake and at peak times the lack of adequate spaces for breakfast forces some people to have breakfast on sofas or wait a long time.

The staff were ever so friendly and helpful and clearly work hard.
The management decision to reduce cleaning to every 3 days has clearly taken its toll on the standards of the room presentation. You can request daily cleaning but the request is made one day in advance.
The room was extremely dusty and unkept and in urgent need of repair and decorating. (See pictures). the levels of dust impacted my normally well controlled asthma. Some severe mould and limescale in the bathroom. The hotel isn’t unique in this decision to reduce cleaning - sadly too many have taken this route.
The hotel advertises a king Bed - it’s not - this is two single bed pushed together with two single duvets. I did question this and asked for a king duvet or room with a king bed, to be advised a guest exit survey indicated this is what guests in Germany and the Nordics want and, I’d struggle to find a hotel providing anything but single beds? So there are no king beds or king duvets.
The hotel is well located for the nearby tram and the area is quiet.
If your looking for black out - while they have black out curtains they don’t quite cover the full window - but thankfully the previous guests had made attempt to take the curtains to each side of the wall, but it still wasn’t total black out (see picture)
The balcony was unusable having been taken over by pigeons! (See picture)
Breakfast; great selection, good food, again nice staff and good service.
In summary, decisions by management on cleaning and decorating affecting hotel standards.
Else, where they can staff want to help, and they are friendly!

It deserves 5 stars (for the category) for: location, fast check in/out, kindness of the staff, overall services offered, soundproofing, room facilities. Then, however, there is a 3-star downfall: the carpet flooring in the rooms and corridors. I understand that it is much easier to vacuum to tidy up, but I find this use unacceptable - in these times and for high-class hotels - for hygiene, deep cleaning and aesthetics purposes. However, the rooms are clean and tidy. I would give 2 suggestions to managers: 1- equip the rooms with simple multilingual manuals for the use of household appliances (also for their protection). 2- it wouldn't be bad to invite guests to a mini separate waste collection, at least for paper, with different containers. I found them in various hotels. Having said that, the hotel is recommended!

Wonderful hotel. The room was not large but was perfectly formed with a large bed, sofa, kitchen area, eating area and bathroom. Didn’t use the kitchen but it seemed like everything was provided that you could want including a microwave and dishwasher.
The bed and sofa were comfortable and the bathroom very nicely done. Cleaning only every 3 days but you have the option to request it daily or to collect clean towels at reception. For us every 3 days was more than adequate. The room we had was nice and quiet.
We had pre booked breakfast and despite the small area the selection was very good and food on offer also good quality.
The location is excellent - near trains, buses and trams and lots of places to eat nearby. It’s also on the train route from the airport.
Finally the staff in the hotel are helpful and friendly and a shout out to the bartender for remembering our drink preferences!
Would definitely recommend and if we are ever back in Berlin would definitely stay again.

Great location for all the sights of Berlin and the direct S9 train from the airport stops 3 minutes walk from the front door. Only about E3.50 per person. We had a 2 bed apartment which was perfect for our grown up family of 4. Sadly too cold to use the balcony but a good view of the famous TV tower. Very quiet and warm - lots of room and well equipped. Small galley kitchen with hob and microwave. 2 Bath rooms 1 with bath and 1 with shower We found the Bolt taxi app was good for cheap fares - cheaper than public transport if there’s 4 of you. Lovely sauna and twin jacuzzi Lots of nice shop’s restaurants and bars nearby. Supermarket on the same block so we made our own breakfasts and didn’t try the restaurant.

This 4-star Hotel apartment is the favorite place to stay in Berlin. The hotel in Ackescher Markt is very well placed to access public transport: trams, buses, underground, train. It is very quiet, close to many restaurants and the service is perfect. The quality of the room is high level including premium rooms located on the upper floors for the view and light. The bedding is fantastic, the kitchen sufficient for small meals and the toilets very well designed. We recommend this property without reservation.

We didn’t have breakfast there. The hotel is well located with quite a few breakfast options. There is a supermarket close by and we bought cereal, juice, etc so we could have a quick breakfast and start our day.
