Top hotel central i Mitte, Berlin. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. There seem to be one at every fingertip. Rooms are spacious and well ecuiped nad the cleanliness is excellent. The hotel even offers smoking rooms, which is quite seldom now adays. The noise from Unter den Linden (the street in front of the hotel) can be a bit...

Berlin has an excess of 5-star hotels competing for the more affluent tourists and business guests. While most offer good sub-€200 deals, the Adlon lives up to its name and is by far the most expensive. The "smallest" room with breakfast will cost you over €300. This is fine, but pushes the expectations up. Pros - the hotel is located...

Since I'm a mother I spend more in hotels. It is a reality, I don't sleep anywhere anymore because of them. They were 2 and 3 years old when we travelled to Berlin and with a small kid you never know how long you are going to stay in the hotel. Usually things go right, but if a kid has...

What can be said, we were there in December for 3 nights, the location can not be beaten the staff are amazing, and the breakfast and food is to die for. I find it very difficult to find fault with this hotel, the Brandenburg Gate has something going on all the time. The food in the Restaurant was fantastic and...

Hotel Adlon is right in the heart of the popular berlin. It's steps away from the brandenburg gate. It is really close from the shops and restaurants. The rooms are very nice. The staff is welcoming. The food is appetizing. The price is worth it. One of the best kempinski.

A great hotel. Best employees, location, rooms. Can't say enough. Be sure to watch the video history of the hotel. There's always something going on at the Brandenburg Gate. The first thing we do is get a CurryWurst on the square in front of the hotel. Ask for a room upgrade...they will always do it if possible.

Let's be honest, this is a fabulous hotel, one of the best in the world and it wears the title well. We spent 4 enjoyable nights and loved every minute of our stay. The location is the best in Berlin and the hotel has been rebuilt to resemble the original building, but with modern luxuries. We give a big thank...

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is a class of its own! The location is realy amazing - just near the gate. The service was flawless - no less than perfect - effective, pleasent and professional. It is not cheap or even close to that but if you are looking for a real treat in an elegant classic hotel...

A hotel full of history. Elegant with an amazing service. Old school elevator. Close to museum and great restaurant rows behind the hotel. Highly recommended. It will remind you of the old time. Food is a little steep but like i mention before there are a lot of different restaurants and supermarket within walking distance.

Situated next to the Brandenburg Gate in Central Berlin, the Adlon is expensive. We did not sample their several restaurants. The room was well appointed and comfortable. One thing only was missing - the facility to make tea or coffee in the room. When I was checking out the clerk asked if we had enjoyed our stay. I replied positively...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
