I've just stayed at the Berlin Hilton with my wife for a short break. I would definitely recommend the hotel as a base for exploring Berlin. The location is very well placed for a lot of the main sites. There is a lot to see in close proximity to the hotel, Checkpoint Charlie being the main one for me with a lot of great information about the Berlin wall. We spent most of the time walking the streets, taking in the sites rather than use the underground, however there are lots of underground stops nearby if you are not keen on walking or have more limited time to explore the wonderful city of Berlin. The hotel is very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was the usual Hilton standard with lots of variety on offer, and even an omelette can be made to order with the awaiting chefs. Although we did not have children with us, we found the children were catered for with a small play kitchen at the childrens height stocked with fresh fruit and muffins. The reception desk also had a set of steps that helped children see what was happening at check-in, and they had some activity colouring books for children too. The spa area was also very good, a reasonable sized pool, sauna, and steam room. A word of warning the sauna and steam room are true German style, which means nudity is required, giving you a true experience. Both the sauna and steam room were exactly how they should be with regards to temperature, and there was a pleasant warm rainfall shower, a not so pleasant cold shower, and an even worse cold dunk bucket. But these are all parts of a proper sauna/steamroom experience. The spa staff were also very helpful and obliging, which enabled the best experience possible. I hope you enjoy Berlin as much as my wife and I did.

Hotel's Favourite
We have just returned following a 4 night stay in a Corner suite on a bed and breakfast basis We were originally on the 2nd floor and this corner suite has more living space, and the bathroom has a double sink, shower over bath and a separate room for the toilet We were moved after the first night to the 6th floor and this corner suite has slightly less living space due to the layout, and only one sink in the bathroom but a separate bath and shower, with toiletries (info may be helpful depending on your needs as the rooms were different in layout and amenities) We had an issue with the bed in the first room, this was kindly resolved by the manager Fabian by moving us to the 6th floor (as the technician was unable to fix it and to also allow them time to replace the bed in the 2nd floor room for other guests) We have stayed at this hotel several times and never had any concerns, the bed was broken on this occasion but the staff would have been unaware of this issue unless they happened to be sleeping in the bed! Fabian was very kind and courteous, and the issue resolved satisfactorily and promptly The rooms were clean, and well furnished and the breakfast selection more than ample We ate in the restaurant in the lobby on one occasion and the meal was good, with pleasant staff throughout the hotel We would recommend this hotel, and had a great stay For general info the Gendarmenmarkt area outside the domes opposite is undergoing construction until 2024, this did not impact on our stay (other than the view) in either noise levels or access to the hotel/ surrounding areas at all The location is great with lots of attractions, restaurants and shops in the immediate area, and only a 20 to 25 minute pleasant walk to the Alexanderplatz area

This is a fantastic hotel in a great location for seeing the sights of Berlin. It’s a lovely hotel and as alway with a Hilton, you get lovely staff, clean spacious rooms and a lovely breakfast. Only a 10 min walk to Checkpoint Charlie and if you like a stroll, you can easily walk to the Brandenburg Gate in about 30 mins. If not, you will be well served by the efficient subway.

The Hilton Berlin is excellently located, just opposite to the Berlin cathedral and very close to many major sights. Unfortunately this is almost the only positive thing I can say about the Hilton Berlin. During check in my Hilton Gold status was mentioned but not recognized. Instead of an upgrade I felt that I got the worst possible room (5099). The hotel was far from being booked out. I stayed one night and almost all room categories were bookable at the time of my check in. The room was only superficially clean. Stains everywhere, where you wouldn’t look at first sight. In the bathroom all metal items were very rusty. So rusty that it felt disgusting to use the towel warmer. Warm water in the shower worked, but took 3-4 minutes to actually come, and even then it was just warm, hot water was not available. The sealing on the shower glass was missing so that after taking a shower all bathroom was flooded. The towels were not soft but more like sandpaper. I never experienced something similar in any hotel. Any bathroom amenities - not available. The Spa is in luxurious from a facility perspective. It has a beautiful pool, a whirlpool, sauna, steam bath… unfortunately it is operated so poorly that all luxury fades. At checkin to the SPA I was given a single towel. Pool, Sauna, shower, with just one towel? Not very convenient or hygienic. Also the towel was too short to lie on it in the sauna. Water is available in the Spa in plastic cans, pure tap water. Other hotels in this price range offer towels as much you need and cucumber water. Breakfast was available. I think this is the most accurate description. There was absolutely no service, no seating, coffee had to be self served. Finding a table was difficult as there was not enough staff to clean the tables and most were dirty. Coffee had to be self served. There were cans with filter coffee for self service. Any coffee specialities - not available. Bread rolls - warmed convenience product. Other hotels in this category in Berlin offer fresh bread rolls. Selection overall very poor. But there is sparkling wine and Bloody Mary available. After complaining at check out I got a 50% refund without any further discussion and I was offered a free drink at the bar. In my view the Hotel is not even worth the discounted price.

The worst Hilton I’ve ever stayed at and the first time ever I have checked out of a hotel early (only stayed 2 nights out of 5). And we’re Hilton Gold card holders so have stayed in a lot of Hiltons! *squeaky & unstable beds *small, tired bathrooms - had a drain in the middle of the floor that overflowed and flooded the bathroom when showering. Plus shower over the bath and low ceilings combined meant my 6ft 2 son could barely fit in. Complained and moved rooms 3 times (at 2 am in the morning due to arriving very late after the journey from hell). Too exhausted to move again that night (by this time 3 am) and deal with staff who clearly didn’t care, bordering on rude. AND WE ARE HILTON GOLD CARD MEMBERS. I advise you all to stay somewhere else.

The Executive Lounge can be located on the ground floor, with the spirits during the 'Cocktail 2 Hour', located high above eye line, in wooden alcoves. I made the mistake on the first evening assuming that the Executive Lounge only contained wine & beer. After looking up, it opened a whole new world of alcohol consumption in Germany for me. Breakfast can be accompanied with self made Bloody Mary's in the restaurant on the first floor, as well as a fantastic view of a Cathedral across the street. The upgraded corner room was very pleasant and allowed for interesting views of the surroundings. As always, thank you Hilton for a room available upgrade x

Can’t beat the location of this hotel, which is right by the U2 line that takes you everywhere. However, it’s rather run down, with chipped furniture, broken lamps, and out-of-order spa facilities. Breakfast is good, workout center is very good except for a bizarre partnership with an exercise bike company that requires you to drive sign with your credit card before using the screens.

We value your feedback and are sorry to hear that your stay with us fell short of your expectations. We understand your disappointment that the pool was not available during your stay, but are happy to report that the repair works are completed and our hotel guests can use the pool again. Regarding your comment on the exercise bike, Hilton is proud to have partnered with Peloton. You can use the bikes free of charge, a log-in is only required if you want to access your personal Peloton account. I apologize if this was not properly explained and will ensure that our team is trained accordingly.

Good The hotel is well located for business in a historical building facing another nice monument. The lobby is large and impressive, leading out immediately to a subway station. The shower’s water pressure was the best thing - almost too powerful! Bad The hotel and rooms are slightly dated. The bed was quite firm and pillows under-stuffed. The room service was average on both occasions, and the €6 500ml water unjustifiable profiteering. There was a self-service micro store in the lobby which was 1/3 the price. The used room service tray was left in the room a full day by housekeeping, and when removed by me, was left overnight outside the room again. The check-in was brusque with no recognition of my Hilton status.

Location Relative to the City: The Hilton Berlin is situated in a quiet part of the city, reasonably close to various attractions, granting it a score of 7 out of 10. Its location offers a serene retreat while still being accessible to the city's highlights. Check-in/Checkout Experience: The process was hindered by long queues, and the staff's friendliness, especially towards returning guests in the loyalty program, could see improvement. The absence of a personal greeting or a welcome card was disappointing, meriting a score of 5 out of 10. Room Comfort: Although many rooms appear outdated, my stay in a recently renovated room was exceptional. It featured a large TV, ample space, an efficient master switch, and a stylish bathroom, indicating a move towards modernization. Breakfast: The breakfast was impressive with its vast selection and quality. Staff frequently circulated to provide service, ensuring a pleasant start to the day and deserving a score of 7 out of 10. Restaurant & Executive Lounge: The lounge staff were notably friendly, with a decent selection available in a not overly crowded space. However, the furniture could benefit from an update to enhance the overall experience. Additional Amenities & Services: The pool area was a delightful aspect of the hotel, offering relaxation and enjoyment with a rating of 7 out of 10. However, the overall service experience significantly detracted from my stay. Encounters with staff who did not adequately listen or follow up on requests, along with the need for multiple calls for room service, considerably marred my experience. This lack of attentive and responsive service negatively impacted the enjoyment and convenience that the hotel's amenities could offer. 4 out of 10 Value for Money: The value varied depending on the room type. My stay in a newly designed room was visually appealing, yet the overall hotel service fell short of expectations. Issues like needing to call multiple times for service and the costly room service diminished the experience. The lounge and breakfast staff, however, demonstrated a better understanding of service, resulting in a score of 6 out of 10. Recommendations for Future Guests: Currently, the hotel is undergoing transitions, necessitating the use of different keycards for elevators and rooms. While inconvenient, this is a temporary measure. Future guests should be prepared for this minor hassle during their stay.
