We had to scramble to find a place in Prenzlauerberg after our vacation rental fell through because of Berlin laws changing, and we settled on this Pension. It was just ok. It's charming and very accessible with the tram. The neighborhood just southeast of the hotel is fantastic. The room was a good size but lacking for convenience. There was...

Great staff; very polite and helpful. Overall, this is a great-value-for-money hotel. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The breakfast was very good. There is plenty of parking spaces in the neighboring area. The city center is easily approachable by car or tram. I would undoubtedly stay there again. Would recommend to all.

This is a great little Pension. They were very nice and let us into the room early after an overnight flight for a much needed nap and shower. Breakfast is pleasant and affordable, rooms are clean and quiet. It's a great location on the tram line and in a trendy part of town. A good find!

The Pension Prenzelberg is perfectly located in the Prenzlauer Berg quarter and in walking distance of shops, boutiques and restaurants. Furthermore, the access to the public transport (Ringbahn from / to the airport, suburban railway and Tram) is very good. For example, the tram station with connections directly to the Alexanderplatz is located nearly in front of the hotel. Staff...

Love this little Pension. The rooms are in several appartements in the back of the house. Cozy and a real piece of Berlin. The breakfast is buffet style and you shouldn't miss it. You can come and go with the TRAM. The station is right around the corner. The rooms were simple but clean. There is no elevator to the...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
