The biggest advantage of this Ibis is the location. There are a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood, a subway and train station just around the corner and nice stores in a walking distance. Besides that, it offers a good service like any Ibis hotel, the room is very clean, a friendly staff and a honest breakfast. I would recommend.

It's a symbol of gentrification, as well as my age, that I stayed in a hotel that overlooks the hostel I stayed at when I first travelled in Berlin. The service at reception was friendly and helpful. I stayed on an upper floor with a view to the TV tower. The room was very specious and the bed comfortable. The...

Stayed here for 3 nights in February. Good cheap hotel within walking distance to checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag Building. Also not far away from Subway stations to get around the city.

The hotel is in a good location within 15-20 minutes walk from Alexander Platz and the room was good value. It is also well served by the tram system and the underground. The receptionist upon my arrival was civil but curt - he made no effort to greet me or to ask if I needed any assistance. The girls on...

I remember IBIS Hotels - the kind of chain that you stay with, when you cannot find anything else around. This time I was positively surprised! Modern, stylish and very different hotel. Did not know they completely changed their looks. 2 metro stations from Alexanderplatz you get a clean and very appealing room, nice touches and comfy beds. Breakfast was...

The location is perfect. Lots of design shops nearby. The staff is friendly and kind. Only downside is the design of the rooms. If you are 2 friends staying inside the same room, you'll have some problems. The room layout is poorly planned. Not small but the plan is so bad it is ridiculous. Not enough shelf or closet space,...

Really enjoyed our short break in Berlin. The 'Sky TV' advert is misleading but otherwise a great hotel. Excellent breakfast and great location, very easy to get round the city using either tram or underground. Lots of nice restaurants nearby.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
