The hotel is a little tired, but the location and courtious service make up for it. The prices during one of Berlins exhibitions are resonable. It is not user friendly for disabled. The restaurant is elegantly appointed, but the menu is difficult to follow. Prices are relatively reasonable, considering the prime location.

Even though the hotel is not located at city centre, it is close to U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations so I found it really convenient. The hotel building is a bit old so my room didn't have an air conditioner. However, the room was not hot at all so I actually didn't need one. Considering the price, this hotel was amazing.

The location of this very nice and stylish Hotel Savoy is perfect. The rooms of the hotel are nice spacious and bathroom is quite large, clean and nice. The wifi did not work in our room and we were offered to change the room, which was very nice from the reception. The breakfast is lovely. I definitively recommend this hotel...

Couldn't have been more perfect. Love the neighborhood, the lobby, the room, the frühstück, the front desk folks (Jessica Thomas and the young man who's name, "Ich habe vergessen.") Tschüss, Savoy Hotel

Lovely classic establishment in the centre of what was once old West Berlin. It oozes fifties glamour and charm. The rooms are nicely appointed although they could use some sprucing up. Apparently the restaurant is highly regarded but was closed for dinner when I was there. Breakfast was excellent. The cigar bar has a lot of charm and it isn't...

We stayed for 3 nights arriving on 01.12.16. The first thing that hit us as we walked through to reception was an unbearable smell of cigar smoke and this was due to the fact that there was a smokers lounge next to reception! The smell was throughout the hotel and was not nice considering the smell stuck to your clothes....

Really excellent location hotel just off a main road. Very engaging reception staff A comfortable room, maybe a bit small, maybe a bit over heated but fine. Good bed though i wasn't a fan of the empty pillows. Of course it's clean. I loved the touch of having neat coat hooks inside the door Didn't eat in the restaurant as the...

We stayed here for 3 nights in October. It was very cold outside but we found the hotel to be very warm and cosy. It was even a bit too warm on some occasions. The breakfast provided was a great selection of both continental and cooked. The location of the hotel is close to a number of UBahn stations.

Staff were extremely helpful, breakfast is a great spread. Would recommend! I would say that the cigar bar that forms part of the hotel is a definite added benefit as we could meet friends and clients there after a days work

Stayed at The Savoy in Berlin for a few nights whilst in town on business. The hotel can best be described as a typical old school hotel with a lobby clad in wood paneling, leather furnishings and red carpet. To the left of the reception you can find a cozy little Cigar Bar and to the opposite side, you will...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Opened in 1929, the Savoy Hotel Berlin lies just a few minutes' walk from the busy Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s famous elegant promenade. Celebrities like Maria Callas, Romy Schneider, Greta Garbo, Helmut Newton and the famous German writer Thomas Mann were regular guests. They all valued the hotel’s atmosphere and unobtrusive service. Today the Savoy is still synonymous with style, discretion and hospitality. The classical premises were refurbished in 2005 and its original features restored to their former glory. ... more   less
