Our family (with our toddler) stayed there in a room on the 7th floor and perhaps the needs of others are different but the windows didn't have a lock, which is a big flaw if you ask me. The child can easily open it and...More

There is so much I liked about this hotel! I'll break it down:
Location--literally can be seen from the Hauptbahnhof and all major trams and bus lines come within 200 feet of this place! It's adjacent to an old prison that's been turned into a...More
Quiet and well designed rooms, very polite and professional staff which makes you feel at home. It is the perfect place to stay after heavy business meetings. Breakfast buffet is smart and tasty with wide opening times.
I had an early flight out of Berlin Tegel and Motel One was a 15 min bus ride away. Near the train station so I just walked over from the train with my bags and had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life
has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.

There is a bus going from outside the Airport hall at street level. You will find signs for "Bus" inside the arrival hall. It has 'TXL' on the destination window, and it goes direct to the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). It costs Euro 2.70, and you pay either the driver or in peak periods a seller outside. The hotel Motel One is on the same side of the station, where the bus arrives, you don't have to go through the whole station.
