We stayed Herr for two nights in September for the Berlin Marathon. The rooms are spacious enough and clean. The location is not close to the main sights, but a s-Bahn Station is closeby. Wifi reception was fantastic, and the not included breakfast (7€) was well worth the money. We will comme back during our next trip to Berlin.

Very friendly staff, good kitchen facilities and the rooms were clean. We shared an 8 bed dorm which had a cupboard to store your bags and a decent ensuite with a hairdryer. Metro station and supermarkets nearby which was perfect. I would recommend this hostel.

We found a pair of dirty underwear from the previous guests in the bathroom with a used, stained towel that had been left. The rooms and en suites are tiny. The hotel is dirty and plagued with bedbugs. The staff are rude and there is no atmosphere - very bad value for money. We booked a double room but had...

I stayed there for 2 nights. The rooms were clean. The environment was quiet. The location is not very close to the city center but easy access to nearby S-bahn and U-bahn station. It was a pleasant stay overall.

I stayed for three nights in Main Station Hostel in May 2014. The room and the hostel in general, were really quiet (a lot of the residents were somewhat old) and I guess the stuff was polite and helpfull. Although the hostel is located near the main station (Hauptbahnhof), which is quite far from the centre and the "cool" areas...

Thank goodness the recent reviews were not there before we went to Berlin! :) WE had the most enjoyable stay, in a quiet room and excellent service, and will be returning if we have a chance. We travelled as a family with a (10 year old) child and stayed for a week in Main Station hotel. Found them through the...

Absolutely terrible stay. The room we originally were put in had beg bugs everywhere all over the room, we were then moved to another room 2 floors above which also had beg bugs. The whole property was crawling with them. After dealing with reception they said there was nothing they could do and that it was a complicated situation. It...

I've stayed here twice and everytime I was really satisfied. Despite being in a dormitory, it was very clean and quiet. Everyone in the room was quite attentive, but sometimes it was hard to share one bathroom with another 7 people. The hostel has friendly and helpful staff, nice restaurant and outside garden. It's not so central, but it's easy...

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
