We stayed at Pangea People Hostel for three nights over NY. While the location is excellent I did not find any helpful staff members, had no hotwater for all four showers and couldn't once login to the wifi. I wouldn't stay here again. That being said our six bed dorm was very clean, bathrooms were well maintained and the bar...

The istallations of this hostel are nice and beds are really confortable. Was quiet hard to get to know other people once this is a big hostel. There was a super nice member of the staff but the rest was an 'oke'. Didnt feel the vibe of geting in and feel welcome, thats weird at least for me. You need...

Excellent Hostel! Everything! They're very well located nearby Alexanderplatz, 5 min walking from the Hostel, the staff is excellent from the front desk to the bar staff. Beds in this hostel are just excellent, rooms are very good decorated with Cities names, mine was in Cape Town with a huge poster of the city. Wi-Fi is €1 per 24h, good...

Hostel was located in an excellent place, easy access to everywhere with a very reasonable price. As a student hostel it was not lively at all and hosting many loud high school groups. If, however internet connection is crucial for your stay, don't even consider Pangea People. We paid for wifi connection everyday but we still couldn't get connected in...

A fairly standard hostel located in an excellent part of Berlin. A stones throw from Alexanderplatz and excellent links to transport, including the underground line to the bus station. The noise levels were a bit of a problem, with kids running up and down the halls and girls screaming. It's obviously luck of the draw who you're staying at the...

I was not expecting luxury, but when you are staying in a hostel all you need is a bed and bathroom. The rooms were fine - but we stayed two nights and had cold showers every morning. When we told the reception staff on check out they asked us why we didn't try another shower on a different level... Not...

I generally stay in 5* hotels however we visited for a stag do. This place ticked the boxes. Good location, shared rooms and cheap. Whilst the bathrooms leave a lot to be desired this is a hostel not The Ritz. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Staff did what they needed to go. Bar area good for meeting point. Csnt...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.

“If you have the option is staying in a room with less people in I would go for that. 8 people in one of the small rooms wasn't too pleasant, and you've more chance of having access to plug sockets and storage space in a less-populated room there.”
