This was my second trip to Berlin. Last time I had stayed in the Potzdamer Platz area and decided this time I wanted somewhere a lot closer to Museum Island. This hotel was perfect - just a 15 minute walk (or less if you took the tram). The loo/shower arrangement was a bit odd and you have to remember not...

"Wait for the next smile" was the heading of the sign in front of the hotel reception. But there was no smile to us from the hotel receptionist girl that served our welcome as hotel guests last weekend of April 2013. In fact she barely showed any expression at all during the check-in procedure but giving grumpy phrases about hotel...

if you want the view and the location, then go for it otherwise i believe the Hotel is not up to what you can get in other hotels. the fitness is inexistant, with no air conditioning and only a hand full of things you can use

Location is good, close to transport, but that's as good as it gets. They have a high turnover of guests here and check-in is perfunctory & that's the last of the service. We were asked for a voucher upon check-in which I didn't have, as our travel agent made the booking for us. Even though I showed a print out...

LOCATION: Right in the centre of Alexanderplatz with the S bahn and U bahn (and trams) on your doorstep. The train from Schonefeld takes about 22min to Alexanderplatz station which is a very short walk from the hotel. A short walk from the hotel and you'll discover numerous bars and restaurants. Do venture out as the choice is very good....

We love the room in the 31. floor with panorama view. The breakfirst was also fine and the service was very helpful. The Hotel is in the Zentrum and near train and bus. But 3 Euros for the little panorama terasse!!!

This hotel had a great location in the center of Berlin, with really close access to the train station, great for business travel. It was very clean, spacious, and had plenty of room to unpack and put things away. One small complaint; the elevators tended to be busy-- you may have to wait several minutes to catch them and even...

The location of the Park Inn is perfect for everything you want to see in Berlin. The hotel is modern (which we like) and as others have mentioned, the regular suites at least include the bathroom in the main bedroom. There is just a curtain to separate you from the room, and the area is not very big. The toilet...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
