We stayed here for our honeymoon. Brilliant hotel, very clean, good sized room with en suite. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. U-Bahn was a few steps away, so very easy to get round the city. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed here for business as I was working in Neukolln, so this place was ideal but if you were looking for somewhere closer to the tourist sites then perhaps this won't be for you. The hotel is very much trapped in a late 80s early 90s time warp but as a place to rest, it cannot be faulted. Rooms...

We stayed here for a few nights and the location was great - just what we wanted. The room was clean and it was big. However, we both found the beds rather uncomfortable (the pillows in particular) and the surroundings (as in both outside the room and outside the whole hotel) quite noisy, interrupting our sleep quite regularly. The hotel...

We had a big and clean room on top floor with good bed (not too soft). Excellent breakfast buffet. We chose this hotel because we like to stay in different hotels and neighbourhoods when visiting Berlin. If you are visiting Berlin for the first time and have time only a couple of days, take notice this hotel is not within...

I stayed at this hotel Beethoven for five nights while on vacation. It is secure, really close to the U (subway), they speak English well, the room was clean, large, really comfortable. The breakfast included was incredible- so much choice, all fresh, and everyone was very helpful. I was there solo and I felt very safe and enjoyed the hotel...

Great base for exploring. Lots of places to eat nearby and a supermarket across the road. Room large, clean and well maintained. Breakfast ideal with a well stocked area with bread, cereals, cheeses, cold meats and small selection of hot food- sausages, scrambled and boiled eggs. Friendly receptionist that spoke English. Room cleaned daily to high standard. Easy to get...

We recently stayed at this lovely hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful and even helped me polish up on my terrible German. It was my first visit to Germany and I think the hotel was one of the finer points of my stay. Great wifi, rooms were lovely and clean and also warm and bright. The bathroom was well...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights on a city break. It was ideal for our purpose; good size clean bedroom, comfy bed, clean shower room, wifi. Very quiet too in our room at the rear of the third floor. Good temperature control in our room and elsewhere. Breakfast was enjoyable; a couple of cooked options plus a good...

We stayed in Hotel LvB in Oct 2016 while attending friends’ wedding. We selected the hotel, as the venue was near and the price-rating ratio was great. And it included breakfast. The location was great, few hundred meters away from Hermannplatz U-bahn station on U7 & U8 lines. Plenty of small restaurants within 100 m, Karstadt department store in vicinity,...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
