The hotel looks grotty from the outside and occupies the second floor and above over an electrical retailer store. But don't be put off, inside, the hotel is smart and clean and we had a room at the back of the hotel away from the busy main road at the front. Breakfast was included and was a typical continental style although extras liked scrambled egg or yoghurt could be ordered without charge. The room was a little tired but had one drawback. Even though it was at the back of the hotel, we were woken up each morning at 6.30 by delivery men and loud voices from the electrical store below, which echoed around the back of the building. Overall, we had a great stay with some good local restaurants to the right as you leave the hotel. We would certainly return for our next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back for a good night's sleep. Our room had opening windows yippee!

A lovely hotel on a busy road with plenty of eateries near by. Transport links are excellent as the U7/8 as well as buses are within 100m of the front door. The U- bahn and S-bahn are generally easy to use and great for getting around. The hotel is opposite the Volkspark Hasenheide and is above a small cafe and Conrad Electricals. There is a piece of the Berlin Wall outside the entrance which leads to the lift which takes you up to reception. The guys on reception are exceptionally helpful so if you have any questions just ask them! Off reception is the dining room, bar and outside area. Everything is clean and distanced. The outside area is small but a welcome cool place in the evening to enjoy a beer. Or two. Just beware the millions of wasps. The room we had was for 3 adults and came with a double bed and separate single bed room which gives nice privacy. The room was spacious and light up on the 5th floor with a park view. Two minus points are the lack of air con in Berlin's 30°+ heat or a safe in the room. There are fans available which help no end and any valuables can be stored in the reception safe at no cost. Breakfast was included and is the usual continental although no buffet so everything is brought to you. You can ask for whatever isn't on the plate and if they have it they'll bring it. All in all, this is and exceptionally good budget option where you see more of the 'real' South Berlin but are within the commute to the tourist attractions. You could do worse than staying at the Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Room was clean with comfortable enough bed and an adequate en-suite bathroom. Missed having a safe and tea/coffee making facilities in the room however. Hotel is close to u-bahn station and there is plenty of cafes, shops etc in the vicinity. Overall the hotel offered good value for money and would definately use again.

We stayed there 1 night (Tuesday/Wednesday). Very clean, friendly stuff, close to U-Bahn station, quiet, comfortable bed and pillow. Tasty breakfast, selection was very OK. I would not stay there for a romantic weekend or something but for a short business trip it was a good selection.

The hotel is a bit tucked away as the reception is on the first floor and you have to take the lift or stairs to reach it. Once there it is like any hotel. Location is very close to two U-bahn lines at Hermannplatz. We had a spacious family room that fitted four adults without any problems. Ok beds and ok bathroom and shower. The room overlooked a park called Hasenheide (I think). Breakfast was plentiful and you sat in a nice setting in a kind of winter garden. With a quite attractive price for the four of us and the location I’d say this is very good value for money.
