Think it is too expensive for what you get. Rooms dark, bathroom VERY small but new. Old furniture, not really cosy. Location was very great for us. The woman in the reception tried very hard to make us feel welcome. She was extremely nice! That's why I give 3 stars really.

Upon arrival we were greeted by both of the owners, who made us feel very welcome. They talked through some of the tourist sites, bus routes, places to visit, then showed us our room. The furniture in the room is slightly dated but the beds turned out to be very comfortable. The breakfast was generous, lovely coffee, hot chocolates for...

Gunia hotel is a small hotel in an old building with clean rooms in different sizes. Owners are very nice and warm try to make a good time for their guests. Breakfast is very good. U-bahn is on reach connecting to all other important places in the city very easy. KaDeWe and shopping area is just a few minutes walk.

This is more like a guest house, not really a hotel. The lady is very friendly and welcoming. We had an apartment which is in the ground floor with a nice private garden. To get at the apartment you need to go down the tiny stairs which might be difficult for older or overweight people. No sun or daylight in...

We had a beautiful room with large beds, sofas, plenty of space in an antique style enterieur. The building itself is very nice, with a spiced up baroque overtone. The crew is really helpful and friendly. The bars, restaurants and the market nearby sums up a five star experience, definitely.

If you want a taste of real hospitality in a wonderful old building in a great area of the city then stay at this small, friendly hotel. There's no shortage of places to eat, drink and shop on the doorstep, and the nearest U-Bahn station is only a couple of minutes walk away.

Attended by owners, extremely accommodating. Clean rooms and excellent German home made breakfast. Close to a variety of restorants and subway station. For those into the gay scene, the hotel/pension is half block away from one of the three gay quarters in Berlin.

I'm amazed by the service at the hotel! The apartment/room was really good and the private garden was so nice! I will definitely go back to this hotel! We came by car from Sweden and had a lot of luggage with us, and after the Berlin vacation we took a small trip to Mallorca, and there was no problem leaving...

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
