If you look for a cheap hotel, with an excellent service and a splendid location, look no further. Its 200 meters from the subway and in one of the liveliest and most interesting quarters of Berlin. It is in an old apartment block, regretfully no lift so you have to walk 1 or 2 floors up. And you should expect... More

Very clean with nice helpful staff and filling breakfast..great sleep and once you get the hang of the subway system it's easy to get around from the point that they have the hotel.. The other good thing about this hotel is that there are internet cafes nearby which is advantageous if you need to print, look up the Web..terrific place !!

Good location with friendly staff and clean rooms. The room even had a balcony! Overall it was a very good experience, and the price was very fair for what you get. I would definitly go back there if I needed a place to stay in Berlin.

I stayed here on a whim and found it very clean, modern decor, bright and welcoming. The breakfast was superb - boiled eggs on request plus a selection of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fresh rolls, coffee, tea and fruit juice and some gorgeous marmalade and other preserves.... I had a quiet single room with a double bed which seemed to... More

This place is located in the "hip" area of Kreuzkölln, where there are not many hotels, and this is what you pay for. Reception is in the first floor after a dingy walk- up in a residential building, the room I head was extremely tiny, barely could put my suitcase next to the bed. Has the feeling of an aged... The rooms are very European - meaning really tiny. But mostly clean and quiet with good hot water. Breakfast is 7 euros and is decent but you can eat cheaper outside. Conveniently located near the U-bahn in a neighborhood with plenty of food choices. Staff speak good English and are friendly. Biggest issue is someone in an adjacent room was... More

This is a small friendly family run hotel. The facilities are only 2-3 star but everything is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable. They have good free Wi-Fi. The staff are very friendly and helpful with sufficient English. It is close to a U Bahn - so travel in the City is no problem. You can book a... More

Very cheap, very clean, very friendly staff. Quiet neighborhood, quite close to the city center. If you can't allow yourself investing more than 50 bucks per night for a Berlin hotel, "Am Hermannplatz" is your choice. The hotel is basically two floors of a 4-floor building in a residential area, renovated and remodeled for a hotel. The entire staff is... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
