We arrived to the hostel with high hopes after the website made it look very promising. Having spent 5 long, sweaty, uncomfortable days here I can say that the website couldn't be further away from the reality of this shocling hostel. Firstly i'll begin my saying the staff were all incredibly rude and unattentive, not once was I impressed with...

I want to try and be as positive about this hostel as I can, first of all, because the review is going to be a low score. The central shopping area of Berlin, the Alexanderplatz, is a massive cosmopolitan area that clearly distinguishes itself from the industrial Friedrichshain district. There are lots of bars and clubs here but beware for...

and Marleen was very helpful at all times! 😊 Very underground and will always try to help you on your journey.. There's even a club in the last floor so there's always a party going on!! lastly there's vouchers for all types of activities.. I recommend the free ones!

I didn't know this was a party hostel when I booked, so both nights were very loud (Friday and Saturday lol) with pub crawls running with hundreds of people - pretty cool if that's your scene. I'm giving this hostel an average rating for one reason. The big problem, was that our shower didn't drain properly so there was always...

The staff were helpful and good humoured! They provided a comfy communal area and I believe a club downstairs. The free walking tour left from here which was very handy. The lifts take an absolute age to come down and go up to the floor your room is on and stops all the time. If you are on one of...

My friends and I were generally pleased with the hostel and everything it offered. We had a private room, and it certainly was a pleasant little room aesthetically, and the bathroom was very good. We enjoyed the organised pub crawl twice during our stay, and the bar in the lobby is a nice place to relax in. During our stay...

Stayed here over the xmas period. Good value, large, busy hostel. Situated in a good part of the city; good transport links, plenty of places to eat, and walking distance to the local sights. The lobby had a nightclub feel to it, but it was the festive period after all. Offers all the usual hostel utilities e.g: laundry, lockers etc....

We stayed here as a group of six female travellers for three nights, in an eight bed dorm. The dorm was very well furnished with a lots of storage, for bags and other valuables, as well as a sink. Each bed also came with several plugs and a reading light which were very useful. The room was clean and well...

I've been to many hostels but this is the best one so far. You meet mostly nice roommates. This is a good place if you here for partying, relax or hiking. The minus is that the wifi is slow and the rooms tend to get very hot. If I visit Berlin again I'd stay at this place again.

Stayed here two nights on the last leg of a coupled Mother/Daughter Trip. The hostel is in a perfect location-trams, metro, and train are all within 5 minutes. The large Alexanderplatz is just 5 minutes away. There you can find tons of food, shops, bakeries, etc. One tram even stops very close to the front of the hostel. Tram 4...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
