We were looking for a friendly hotel, close to public transport and the city center. It turned out, Victor's was also real close to a great city park and has bikes for hire.
The standard room is a nice hotel room. Airy, enough space and...More
This is a very reccomendable hotel. Clean, calm, with an excellent breakfast service. Location is not city-centre, but it is in a reasonable walking distance to Alexanderplatz.
Rooms are big, and the bar is nice (although expensive).
Minus: the service. Why can't they smile? Why...More
Great hotel, very welcoming, friendly staff. Excellent room and hotel very well presented. Breakfast was excellent. Quiet location opposite a pleasant park. About a 20 minute walk to Alexanderplatz and a bit further to city centre. Good bus service. Good value for money.
We stayed here in two connected rooms for 4 nights and had a lot of fun.
The hotel location is great. Close enough to everything but completely isolated from the noise of other popular locations such as Alexanderplatz. A #200 bus station 100m from the...More
The hotel is not in the city centre but not far away either. Good bus and tramconnections. We had comfortrooms but I am not sure what the differens between comfort and standard rooms is. Anyway our rooms were so quiet and the sleepingquality was superb!...More

No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays,
thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

Yes and No because it depends what time of year that you go! During the winter months they don't have the air con on which was when we were there, I don't know about the summer but I would assume that it would be on. The hotel is a little out of the way, but Berlin has great transport and the hotel is outstanding. Hope that you have a lovely time there as we did.
Unless you really need a car while you're there, I'd strongly suggest leaving it outside Berlin and use the public transport system instead. This is good, frequent and cheap. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel and a... More
