We stayed here for 5 nights in March and was a great base for exploring the city. The hotel is clean, modern and most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast every day which was included in the price we paid and we were happy with. The rooms are on the small side with limited space...

We stayed in here for 3 nights at the weekend on a room only basis (standard room). What a great hotel! They've done a really good job with the rooms, as they are small, but they certainly weren't claustrophobic. Really good use of space and anyone complaining about the size of the room clearly hasn't stayed in a city hotel...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in February. The staff on the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is modern and bright. There are lots of local amenities, good transport links, etc. However, the room got very hot and stuffy and smelt of bleach and when we opened the window there was a very noisy...

One of the tiniest rooms I've ever stayed in! Clean and modern but no room to walk around and I'm not a big person either. Felt claustrophobic. Bathroom was nice and enough space but didn't like that it had transparent wall on shower side to bedroom as was with friend not a partner. TV remote didn't work. Wifi signal was...

After researching lots of hotels, we decided to book our stay at the Hotel Indigo-Centre Alexandreplatz for our first trip to Berlin. It was a great decision. This hotel had everything that you could need for your stay in Berlin. The location was perfect; close to the U-Bahn station, tram spot as well as the Museum Island. I joined the...

Here for a short break, but will need a holiday to recover. The noise of the trams is almost unbearable and we were on the 9th floor. After the first night we spoke to reception about the temperature in the room and were advised that there is only heat in the winter and the air conditioning in the summer. To...

We arrived about 8:30 on a Friday evening after a bus ride from Tegal airport . €2.60 each for a one way trip to Alexanderplatz. Then a 5 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel. Check in was easy with the staff very friendly and efficient. We had a lovely spacious room on the second floor, which also...

We were given a clean, spacious (for northern Europe anyway) and interestingly decorated room. Hand on heart, the reception and bar staff were the nicest I have encountered anywhere. Helpful and pleasant with anything we asked of them, and in the absence of a concierge, knowledgeable about more than just the local area. If this is the area of Berlin...

Modern rooms. Good breakfast. Clean. Good facilities. The major pro is the location. Central and 2 min walk to Alexanderplatz where all your major needs will be there. If you are visiting Berlin during a major event be aware that taxis are not available. Please give it 30 min waiting time. The staff were not very friendly though. I ordered...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
