Located in "East" Berlin, location could not have been better for our purposes. 15 minutes walk from the Airport Bus stop at Alexanderplatz. Hotel was clean and staff were very helpful and efficient. Room was also clean, all necessary amenities including Air Con. Breakfast was amazing, and such a choice of different foods, from fresh fruit, cereals, cooked meats, breads,...

This is old east berlin and its changed so much and Monbijou is part of that. Modern funky and welcoming. Amazing lounge with an open fire (gas) and great food and drinks. Location is almost on the river and adjacent to all the Museums and the TV Tower. Rooms are cool and practical. Nice roof terrace.

Found this hotel ideally located for exploring the city. Like most reviews the rooms are small but perfect for a city break when all you need is a comfortable bed and a great shower! The communal areas are very inviting with a welcoming fire on a cold spring day. If the sun shines the roof terrace is a delight. The...

Superb location (easy walking distance to all sights and amenities), friendly, helpful staff; well appointed room (we booked a corner suite and thought it was worth the extra money); copious breakfast and comfortable, well-stocked bar. Our room overlooked the tram terminus but we were not bothered by any noise from outside or inside. Everything was immaculately clean and the public...

Amazing hotel, amazing breakfast (15 Euro per head) but I mean you have so much to eat that you could just eat and eat for a full hour and they are very accommodating, rooms are very contemporary, very small rooms but it didn't bother us and we were out 90% of the time, showers are fabulous. Very clean rooms, water...

Stayed in this hotel last December with my partner as a reasonably cheap hotel for a short stay in Berlin. The customer service was exceptional, the lady who was working at the reception for the duration of our stay was all too happy to help us with any questions about the city and was glad to recommend us the best...

If you are on a sightseeing tour of Berlin this hotel is a great choice just a short walk to the railway station and a great range of restaurants to choose from nearby. The hotel is very quiet and a good place to put your feet up after a day touring. Excellent breakfast too.

Great boutique hotel. Evian water and Molton Brown amenities. Staff are not the friendliest but I didn't mind. Amazing breakfast place nearby, parks, museums, public transport etc. Really great for solo travelling. Amazing view from the terrace.

Location, location, location! This is a superb central location for touring Berlin with the tram and S-bahn literally steps from the door. Staff were helpful; checking in and out was seamless. The elevator is a little slow but that's not a major flaw of the hotel. The room was sufficient, some say small but as I was only using this...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
