Stopped here for two nights last weekend and cannot fault this hotel. We had a twin room which cost £25 per person per night and included buffet breakfast. Hotel was spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and designed, and staff were extremely friendly. Continental style breakfast was...More
We went to Berlin to see in the New Year. The double room was very clean and well furnished however the duvet needed to be wider with more overhang. The location was excellent with an Underground station two minutes away and Brandenburg Gate an easy...More

Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today
you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

I would advise you to download the German Trains app "DB Navigator" app, this is a great app in so much it will give you live merto service and which platform to use.
Once you come out of the station, head towards the old ruins of the former station, then look for the green Holiday Inn Express sign, its not far from the station
This is a great hotel for loacl sight seeing
