What I look for when I travel, and especially when traveling to a big city is: hotel location and price. I want it to be somewhat close to the city center, and not to expensive. It should have a private bathroom (with a shower), free wi-fi, and preferably some sort of breakfast included. Pension ABC has all of that. Sure,...

My partner and I arrived at the Pension early in the morning, around 9 am. Although the check-in was supposed to be at 12, the lady at the reception said that our room is ready and gave us the keys earlier. That was very nice of her. The room was okay, clean, with a large window. Of course, you can't...

This is good for a short term city break where you drop off your luggage and head out the door to get the most of your first visit to Berlin. I have to say the staff at the Hotel bent over backwards to help! They not only provided us with cups and a kettle for our room on request but...

The hotel is in very good location; it is far enough from the city centre to avoid noise but close enogh to reach places like Potsdammer Platz with Sony Center or Brandenburger Tor by foot (you can reach them in about 20 minutes). The U-Bahn station is also very close. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfasts may not provide the...

Spent 4 nights here at the end of March. Will definitely NOT return. Room 12 is a decent size on the face of it, however you couldn't swing a cat in the bathroom - inconveniently positioned washbasin, which you can't wash your face in due to the shelf directly above it (kept banging my chin/forehead on). Nasty and dangerous (over...

We usually stay in this hotel for work reasons in February and it's a perfect option because of the reasonable price for a great location, good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms and helpful staff. There is a safe parking space and the wifi is good. For the purpose of a short trip to Berlin (unless you specifically want your rooms...

I wish I had saved my money and stayed in a youth hostel rather than wasting my money on this 'hotel'. I was very shocked when I stepped into the corridor and discovered a staircase that the staircase was old and smelly. I held my breath, till we got to the room.... there was no carpet, the mattress was wet,...

We chose the hotel because it is located not far from the home of our friends. It is a good value hotel. Hotel staff is very helpful. Bartender speak french. Rooms are clean but a little old. Don't expect to much but at the rate it is more than acceptable. Location is excellent! You can reach many attractions walking far....

We (me with my wifey) stayed in this hotel during Christmas vacations last year. The location is really nice. Just one minute walking from metro station. The room was not very big but was enough for just two people. The biggest plus was the breakfast. It was really nice and filling. Overall a good value for money.

We had great expectations of going to Berlin again a lovely city. This Pension is no way near the standard of a good hostel, the room looked nothing like those online, the room was tiny and the bathroom stunk of drains. the bed was ok but from sitting on the bed I could touch any wall it was that small....

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
