So when we booked we got a deal that said "double" which we thought meant one room with two people, which was what the picture said. I don't know if that was the travel agency's fault or the hostel. Both blame each other obviously. So...More
I was sick for majority of my stay in Berlin so I spent most of my time at the hostel.
Firstly the wi-fi situation is tragic at best. You have to pay up to 5€ max for about 24 hrs access. The next catch is...More
Apart from the wifi wasn't free, everything else exceeded our expectations, much more for its price. The room and the facilities were appropriate. And the location was perfect for us! With no doubt, I would choose this place again!
The hostel itself is good, and the location is really great if you are out and about in East Berlin, walking distance to many cafés, restaurants and some of the best nightclubs in Berlin. So it is a shame really, that the service was so...More
I've been here for 2 nights only. The hostel is so huge, looks like one of these hostel chains. No free wifi! When you turn on the TV at your room none the channels showing up is in English. I know it makes sense that...More

When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit
buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.

hi, unfortunately I can't help with the airport to hostel as we took the train and walked to the hostel. you can take the train from the main station. I think there is a lift when you get to the station near the hostel. I would say it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the hostel from there. maybe a little longer. we used the train a bit as there weren't too many of the main attractions round that area...well I don't think so anyway. the east side gallery is on that side of town so that was handy and is a bit tourist attraction. for the things like the Brandenburg gate and Jewish memorial etc you will need to take public transport. even though it's only one district apart it's fairly far. we didn't buy the card, but if it includes unlimited travel I would get it. the train system is pretty easy to use so I would try that.
