Super location, good price, average ammenities. 23 hour bar is a nice extra. Dorms are fine but not much storage. Privacy is secure since an electronic card is required to even enter the building with the dorms. Would stay again for short term visits to Berlin. Breakfast costs extra but it is not bad, decent selection.

This hostel felt more like a hotel, little atmosphere for those solo out there! My room was right above the bar and I could hear the music playing until the early morning hours! Additionally, there is little to no sound proofing and people walking, talking or doors shutting in the hallways can easily be heard from your room. The rooms... More

I cannot recommend this hostel based on the fact that they welcome large school groups and the building has zero soundproofing. I was kept awake until 3am both evenings of my stay due to the schoolchildren and while the hostel was responsive, they had to wake up the teachers to address the issue and the kids were up again by... Generally, I can say you are getting a great deal for the small amounth of money you are payng. I was with my boyfriend in a twin room with shared bathrooms and toiletrooms. The room was clean, the othet facilities were also in good shape. A strange thing is that in the bathroom the light is activated by movement and... More

Hostel was really good to stay in, we stayed in a 6 shared room and the rooms were clean. The wifi worked well and there is also laundry service so that was really exciting! But overall the stay was great.

It was a good hostel. The rooms and facilities are everything you need - clean and quite modern. The bar is good with a nice courtyard. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The location is brilliant - very central and they have lots of information about place and things to see. Would recommend.

Toilettes take a while to be cleaned up, lockers don't fit big bags, the vibe of the hostel was in general not good and the most important: staff was AWFUL! One of the recepcionists was extremely rude with us, because we ordered snacks at the bar (which were in the menu) that were over. So unreal that I didn't believe... More

This hostel is quite basic - but for the price you pay it is expected. We spent three nights in a twin share - shared bathroom. The toilets were located down one end, and the showers down the other which wasn't too bad. They are available on every floor too. The hostel reception were incredibly helpful and nice, and the... We stayed here for 4 nights while in Berlin in a double room. The room is tiny, it is very hard to fit two large open suitcases on the floor. We didn't mind this so much as the room is cosy and has a nice view of the courtyard. The location is great - it is right near Alexanderplatz and very... More

I stayed here as part of my inter railing trip round Europe. I have to say, after a few of the hostels we stayed in this one was rather nice - it's big, there's lots of seating, including an outside area, there's a bar and the location is good. I did, however, have lots of trouble sleeping during my stay... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
