The hostel is located right in the center of Berlin. Most of the turistic places are quite close to it, even by walking. An even some markets for buying your own stuff, banks, places to eat and a lot of bars. My room was for 8 people. The beds are comfortable enough for sleeping and at least I didn't have...

The location of the hostel is just perfect. It's really easy to reach the hostel because they e-mail you which transport to use from the train/bus station, airport, ect. The rooms are clean and there is a nice breakfast in a decent price. The only thing I didn't like is that they don't have kitchen and fridge at all, the...

I stayed at this hostel with my friend for 3 nights and sadly I can't recommend this place. We had a 6 bed room, which is actually very spacious with a table in the middle, High School lockers and couple of plugs around the room. The decoration/atmosphere is so simple that it makes the room not that enjoyable. Even though,...

I was happy with our stay in the CityStay hostel. I´ve really appreciate the location- just few minutes walk to Alexander platz where is also metro station and actually city center was in walking distance too. Nice bars and cafés around. Room was clean, staff friendly.

If you're looking for a friendly vibe I don't recommend this hostel. The blonde haired lady at the front desk was very rude and condescending. The breakfast was below average and not pleasant (stale)!

A great hostel atmosphere. Perfect location and easy to find. Fun and eclectic staff. Easy to meet new people if you are travelling solo. An AMAZING staff member, Daniel, helped me out and I had a great couple of nights in Berlin!

Super location, good price, average ammenities. 23 hour bar is a nice extra. Dorms are fine but not much storage. Privacy is secure since an electronic card is required to even enter the building with the dorms. Would stay again for short term visits to Berlin. Breakfast costs extra but it is not bad, decent selection.

This hostel felt more like a hotel, little atmosphere for those solo out there! My room was right above the bar and I could hear the music playing until the early morning hours! Additionally, there is little to no sound proofing and people walking, talking or doors shutting in the hallways can easily be heard from your room. The rooms...

I cannot recommend this hostel based on the fact that they welcome large school groups and the building has zero soundproofing. I was kept awake until 3am both evenings of my stay due to the schoolchildren and while the hostel was responsive, they had to wake up the teachers to address the issue and the kids were up again by...

Generally, I can say you are getting a great deal for the small amounth of money you are payng. I was with my boyfriend in a twin room with shared bathrooms and toiletrooms. The room was clean, the othet facilities were also in good shape. A strange thing is that in the bathroom the light is activated by movement and...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
