Very good location central for all sightseeing and 5 minute walk from station. On the downside no tea/coffee making facilities in room, but plenty of bars/cafes nearby so not a big problem, also no wi-fi available, but on the whole a very nice friendly hotel with a nice bar at front of hotel. Bathroom very clean, would return to this...

We stayed in the Melia Dec 2012 to see in 2013. The hotel was 2 mins from the train station and we caught the express train from Tegel airport which took approximately 30 mins. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was amazing, it catered for everyone and the choice was wonderful and presented beautifully. The staff were very...

Just returned home after a 3 night city break in Berlin, Hotel Melia was perfect for us, just 2 mins walk from train station with a direct Airport Express train from Schonefeld Airport. We arrived early due to our travel arrangements at 11.30 am hoping to just leave our luggage there while we explored the area but our room was...

Following advice from recent reviews we stayed in The Level part of the hotel, and had a room on the 7th floor, adjacent to the business lounge, and overlooking Friedrichstrasse. Although the room was compact, the beds were superb, making for a sound night's sleep. Paying extra to stay in The Level is very good value, with drinks and snacks...

Friendly reception staff offered my elderly in-laws and their daughter an interconnecting room adjacent to ours on the second floor- 2 doubles and a single. Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
