The location of the hotel is great if you are planning on using the subway to get around Berlin as it's right down the street from a stop. Just make sure you exit out of the right set of stairs.... For the hotel itself I was rather disappointed after reading some of the glowing reviews and seeing pictures. The rooms...

Stayed here for three nights, including New Year's Eve, in two Junior Suites. Staff friendly and efficient. I agree with previous reviewers that it is at first difficult to locate your room but the rooms were comfortable with good bathrooms and free wi fi. We ate at the hotel restaurant on one occasion and the food was well prepared. The...

We stayed in Park Plaza Wallstreet from Saturday to Monday, and were very pleased with the location and price. Walking distance to Alexander Platz. Nice Indian resturant across the corner and nice breakfast place by the river. Serviceminded staff.

During the december holidays of 2010, we went on a ten-day trip to Berlin and stayed at the Wallstreet Park Plaza. Overall, our long stay was extremely comfortable, we would definitely recommend it to our closest friends, with only a few minor points of critique. The check-in was quick and effortless. We had made an online booking for the executive...

The location of Park Plaza Wallstreet, 2 minutes' walk from the U-Bahn, couldn't be better for museum-crawl and sightseeing. A bus nearby also takes you direct to the main train station. I felt welcomed as soon as I arrived. Every member of the staff I encountered was friendly and approachable. And Ramona at the front desk was especially helpful with...

We stayed at the Park Plaza for three nights in December going to the street market Gendarmenmarkt (Fantastic) as we have done previously. The hotel was close to a U2 station which was great unfortunately we came up the wrong steps (Two entrances, poor signage, no mention of Park Plaza hotel) on arrival at Wall street and we wondered in...

This hotel is on a quiet street mid-way between two underground stations. It is no more than two stops away from two of the main markets, Gerdarmenmarkt and Alexanderplatz. Both are within walking distance also, if you're wrapped up well. The hotel itself is pristine. Rooms are sleek, warm, modern. Reception and bar staff were very friendly. Room rate was...

We spent a long weekend in this hotel during July 2010. Overall the hotel was very nice, friendly staff, free Wifi and close to metro. Unfortunately our visit there was during a heat wave. Temperature in Berlin was 36C. AC system in the hotel completely failed. We switched room, but it didn’t help – it was centralized AC system. I...

Overall it's a good business hotel with comfortable rooms and meeting facilities. The staff is friendly and professional, the location is not very central, but nonetheless the hotel is rather close to the main attractions. However the hotel has one big problem which, I reckon, wasn't even anticipated by the management. It is bad A/C which completely went down during...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
