We agree with your other reviewer's praise of the lovely garden, bountiful breakfasts and friendly staff. We had not realised how convenient the location is with a U-bahn stop one block west and an S-bahn one block east, in addition to a short (10 to...More
This gem has a rich history that hearkens back to the older days of a divided Berlin. It was a real discovery for us, and "Honeymoom" hotel lived up to its name. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the companion hotel's restaurant and discovered how...More
This is a very special place. We had an apartment in the garden, which was very nice. There were steep starirs to climb, but this had been announced by the hotel on beforehand when making the reservation, so that was our own choice. We definitely...More
Stayed here for 4 nights for the Berlin Marathon. The hotel is a nice mix of antique and modern, and the location is great. They have a secure parking facility, and the U-bahn and S-bahn train stations are a block away. S-bahn from here take...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
