Neighbourhood
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.

We spent five days at the hotel, we are a family of four. We stayed at the 402 room, which was really nice and large and clean and warm (it was freaking cold outside), with a separate room for our wardrobe. The reseption staff was willing to help at any time. Special thanks to

Response from Aivaras G, Leiter Gästebetreuung at Hotel OTTO

Dear Vicky, Thank you for taking time to share your experiences with us at the Hotel OTTO with other travelers. We are pleased that our room has met your taste, that you have had a good night's sleep in our beds and that you liked our central location. As you have already determined correctly, our hotel is located in the center of Charlottenburg in the west of Berlin. Our district enjoys an exclusive reputation thanks to its elegant pre-war buildings and many boutiques. Along the Kurfürstendamm, there are many tourist attractions and department stores. Around the Savignyplatz, which was a meeting place for writers and artists before the second world War, today many restaurants of different nations attract an international audience. Your praise to our team, especially your thanks to Sabrina, we have forwarded. This really is a great motivation for us to do only our best. Our breakfast based on the Slow Food concept with fresh regional ingredients and mainly in organic quality is a highlight in the OTTO and is very loved by our guests. It is very important to us that every guest can enjoy the full breakfast buffet and the same freshness at any time. This means for us that we offer our breakfast on small plates and in small bowls. Thus, we want to ensure that the buffet is constantly refilled. All the more we regret that we did not succeed in this and there were waiting times for you. We are very sorry that the glass and the plaster in the room have been overlooked. Your criticism regarding the cleanliness I have forwarded to our senior housekeeper, because this is definitely not OTTO standard. Nevertheless, we are very pleased that you were very satisfied with us and recommend us to others. We hope to see you again soon. Best regards, Aivaras Gorskis Guest relations

Despite the reduced reception hours because of the Christmas holiday, I loved the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. They gave us the instructions for checking out and everything worked out. Breakfast was easy delicious. And the accommodations for a family of 4 adults

I stayed at Hotel Otto with my family from 26/12 to 30/12 and it was a very very good experience. The room was very large with all the supplies you need to have relax (we have Tv with no Italian channels, only German and English spoken channel... but it was not a problem) and

Dear Vali, Getting from Schönefeld to us isn’t too complicated but it takes about one hour: • you can either take a regional train (RE7 or RB14) until "Zoologischer Garten" and then change to the S7, S5, S75 for one station to the Savignyplatz • or you can take the S9 to Oskreuz and take the S7, S5 or S75 from there to Savignyplatz From the Savignyplatz you can reach our hotel in about 7 minutes by foot. The first connection is much quicker, but the regional trains only go every hour or so. You can use the BVG (Berlin public transport) online journey planner to find out the most suitable connection (link can't be posted due to tripadvisor guidelines). Should you have any other questions, you can gladly contact us directly per email or phone. We're happy to help. Best wishes, Mihai Cucu Operations Manager, Hotel OTTO

Dear Stacey, our Comfort rooms and Studios can accommodate 4 people. The rooms in both categories are 36 m² in size. The Comfort rooms would have two additional single beds, besides the regular double or twin beds and have a walk-in closet. The Studios have an extendable couch in addition to the double or twin beds and have a kitchenette. Best regards from Berlin, Mihai Cucu Operations Manager

Dear frank194433, you can take the express bus X9 from Tegel to Ernst-Reuter-Platz, our hotel is then around the corner. A single ticket costs 2.80 € and the bus ride takes about 15 minutes. A taxi costs about about 15-20 € and the ride takes just as long. With best wishes from Berlin Mihai Cucu
