The room was very specious , extremely clean. Tough the shower is bit small but it did not bother much. The location is very safe and I always felt very very...

We stayed here in Mar/April 2016 and we were pleasantly surprised. We requested an early check for 12pm in but the rooms weren't quite ready, 15 minute wait and we had a room. We had been given an 8 person for the 4 of us, lots of space and lots of beds. Everything was clean and the shower and toilet...

The accommodation here wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the best either - I wouldn't return. I firstly found that the location wasn't great. It was directly in between two train stations and not directly on a tramline either. I also found the offerings of restaurants in the immediate vicinity weren't extensive - in saying that the greek place nearby is...

Some of the worst food I have ever eaten was consumed here. The dinner one night consisted of cold potato which made one of our teachers the Deejmeister very sick. my muslim friend Jayed had no halal option so had to eat salad with his bare hands also the cornflakes tasted like cardboard. The vegetarian option had been mixed with...

We've stayed here a few times. Clean practical, comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Though this time we (2 of us) were put on the freezing 5th floor in a room for 6 people. They were happy to move us to a smaller, updated and much warmer room for 2-3 people. Why were we not offered this is the first...

The hotel/hostel is located near the Mockernbrucke U-Bahn station, so it's convenient to get to from the main bus station (take the U12 line from Kaiserdamm), and it has a 24hr reception desk, meaning you don't have to worry about your arrival time too much. Though it's advertised as a hotel it definitely has a hostel feel - the lobby...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
