As far as hotels go, this isn't the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in by any means of the imagination. The rooms were clean, the bathroom facilities & shower were decent, the beds were comfy. There was, however, a rather large and intimidating prison opposite the hotel. Which of course means police sirens, and lots of them. Apart from the...

I booked this hotel on Booking.com where the photos showed a clean and relatively modern décor for a two bedroom apartment for myself and two friends. Upon arrival at the reception desk we were greeted by a not so welcoming lady who spoke some English, we were handed the keys to our room. We got to our room and it...

We chose this place because we needed to catch early train and bus. To be honest, the room was beyond our expectation because we thought it would be a very oldie furnished room. But it wasn't bad. The room and bathroom were clean. The wifi was quite slow but it was overall a pleasant stay during our visit in Berlin.

We stayed in a twin room for 2 nights. Clean and simple, one single bed and one big double bed. Thin covers are provided but the room was warm enough. Shower was nice and hot. Slightly odd appearance when you first turn up as the building isn't just the hotel, it shares with 2 other business and you have to...

We took the train to Berlin and went to the tourist information centre at Haupbahnhof to ask the location of the hotel. It was a 900m walk from haupbahnhof. Our room was like a furnished apartment with a kitchenette. Can relax on the sofa or the reading corner. We cook our dinner ourselves and we bought the groceries from Aldi,...

I chose this hotel because it was looked close to Berlin central station. However, it was a 10-15 minute walk still. It is in an old building on the 2nd floor. The old lady receptionist didn't speak much English and wasn't the most friendly, but allowed me to check in as early as 7am (I arrived on the overnight train...

I booked for single room, it is small room with shower inside the room but there is private toilet outside the room. The hotel near from Berlin Central Station only use trem and walk. Touris attraction can be reach by walk or by bus. Fair with the price.

The interior at the entrance of the building (ground floor) needs to be enhanced. It's an old building based on the interior. Good thing there's an elevator. The hotel is located on the second floor. The hotel itself was well-maintained. The Receptionist (I think she's the owner) was attentive and friendly. She let me check-in early because the room was...

My wife booked us to stay here. She wanted somewhere close to the main train station that wasn't too pricey. This place certainly fit the bill. It was a 15 minute walk from the station. We had a 2 room apartment which we had for us and our 2 kids. The rooms were neat, clean and tidy. A small kitchenette...

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
