I'd booked this for my girlfriend and I for a short weekend away. upon arriving (we were quiet early in the morning) we were told we could upgrade our room for just 20 euro as the room was already cleaned and ready. The apartment was lovely and massive for just the 2 of us! We had an outdoor terrace on the back of the flat, huge lounge, kitchen, 2 bathrooms; it was a shame we were only there for 2 nights as we would have liked to have taken a bigger advantage! The flat is in a nice quiet area and only a ten minute walk to the lake near the city centre, plus the S-Bahn station is only a 5 minute walk. All in all, a very nice weekend in Hamburg was made even better with our excellent accommodation.
Do not expect this to be a serviced appartment provider. I did book this lodging on a short notice to attend a conference at the CCH (Congress Centrum Hamburg) nearby. First impression was quite nice as the building is located in a upscale neighborhood, quiet, yet still close enough to downtown Hamburg, the university or the Dammtor train station. Nonetheless you enter a large residential building with high ceilings & wooden floors. Please do not think that the handrailings in the staircase are good for keeping grips on them - they are not and move and wobble as soon as you touch them. Checkin was very nice, I was welcomed by an attendant, shown to my appartment which was apparently very nice (see the first few pics) with very high ceilings, wooden floor & a lot of IKEA furniture (but, hey, that´s ok). While I was eating out in the evening I received an anonymous (at least anonymous to me) call & text from the owner (?) of the business telling me that her employee had put me into the wrong appartment and whether we could meet next afternoon to exchange keys for the supposedly correct appartment. I left my bags packed and ready to move inside the appartment entrance. When I came back in the afternoon the owner opened a window after I rang the bell and dropped two pairs of keys into my hands and told me that her employee had moved my bags to another, yet again, the wrong one, appartment. Further she asked whether I could now move my bags from the 2nd to the 3rd appartment. Doing this I discovered that my "final" lodging was a basement appartment with the only window being the entrance door. The "studio appartment" was filled with IKEA furniture as well with very peculiar floral design lamps. The entrance door & the furniture in that department were rather run-down & decrepit (see pics) and showed several weird ... stains .... The entrance door/window was fitted with shades, unfortunately offering several holes in them offering any viewer direct view onto the appartment´s bed. Pro: Wifi coverage & speed was ok. Location was very nice. Con: Pricey, weird, seems to lack funds to keep it all in shape? To sum it all up: I would not book again.…
The Owner, the owners dogs , the cellar flat .First of all we were told that the appartment we booked was not available , then were taken to a basement appartment ,,with dirty garden furniture with no cusions , 2 of the owners dogs were outside our patio doors , one actually tried to bite my wife , so that stopped us going into the garden. The kitchen was very small with no hope of sitting comfortable for breakfast , in the living room no table to sit down and have breakfast . In the bathroom the so called complimentary toiletries were hidden in a drawer , in fact nothing was done to make the guests welcome . The shower corner was just a laugh at how small it was . the red sofa in the livingroom had a rip in it and the TV was tiny . The biggest insult is the price that I paid and having to deal with a very arogant owner . I will be sending a letter of complaint and hoping to get 20% back from what I paid , but not holding much hope .Please spend your well earned money on another destination.…
I stayed with my family for several days last August and I cannot say enough bad things about our experience. It began already with the reception. Warning: there is none! You have to schedule in advance to pick up a key for your room from the cleaning lady and windows for doing so are very small and inflexible. We stayed on the top floor penthouse, but didn't realize there was no elevator until we got there with lots of luggage and 2 kids. The apartment itself was very disappointing. Furniture falling apart, very smelly and dark bathroom, the bathrooms were cluttered with personal effects. The kitchen was tiny and fitted with the cheapest IKEA items that were falling apart (the bread knife broke after the first use.) The need for a kitchen was the reason behind choosing an apartment over a hotel, but in this case, it was a complete waste of money. For this price we could have stayed in a good hotel and eaten out at every meal (which we basically had to do anyway). Another word of warning: before booking here, be absolutely sure you will not need to make changes to your reservation. The lady who runs these apartments is incredibly rude and will not accept changes once you've expressed your interest in making a booking and have confirmed in writing. If you do try to make changes, she will threaten you with lawsuits. She, by the way, is reachable only on a Swiss phone number and, it would seem, doesn't even live in Germany. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Any hotel would be a better option than this place.…
The 1st floor apartment at 13 Heimhuder Str is spacious, very well equipped, comfortable, clean and in an excellent location. A five minute walk away thro 'the park to Dam Square banhof which is 1 stop away from the Hauptbanhof makes this the most accessible and convenient of locations. It's also a short walk to the Alster, Rathaus and wonderful shops. The facilities in the apartment are all and more for a few days stay. The balcony is a wonderful addition to the accommodation. Washing machine and dishwasher are in situ as is a very well stocked kitchen. For our 5 night stay we could not fault it and as it was a last minute trip, considered ourselves very fortunate to have been so well blessed with this apartment. Hamburg is a wondeerful city too.
