This hotel is in a great location, a relatively short walk from the Hauptbahnhof. If you like walking, much of the rest of the city centre is walkable, alternately head back to Hbf for S-Bahn and U-Bahn. Staff at reception were really nice, as were staff through the stay. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Decent enough space as long as you don’t want to live there! Breakfast was pretty good, with hot and cold choices, although tended to be very busy at times. Would be more than happy to stay again.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a very nice hotel right near the train station and is only a short walk to the centre of Hamburg. I’d recommend this hotel, the staff are very nice and the rooms lovely. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on that but there’s lots to see and do nearly and nice places to eat in Hamburg.

Great location in the city center. The hotel has parking and a good breakfast selection. Coffee & warm drinks were available thru the day. Room was standard size, good bed and linens. Confortable and to the Hampton Inn standard. Staff are efficient, helpful and friendly. Bus 112 stops right outside the hotel.

This is a Beautiful Hotel! It was a few minutes walk from the train station. For the price we paid we were more than satisfied. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was amazing. But most of all, the staff were outstanding. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to speak to them

First, I must address the name of the hotel, Hampton Inn Hamburg City Centre, which is very, very misleading. It is nowhere near anything. The front desk pointed out I can walk 15 minutes to the train station and be within 10-15 minutes of a lot of great stuff. But to get to City Centre, it's a solid 20-25 minute trip. The hotel itself is very new and modern, super clean. Rooms were well appointed, fairly spacious. The morning staff were super nice and helpful. The evening staff had only one person, who was the bartender, front desk and the person going to rooms to unlock the thermostats. Not sure why they locked them. He was nice, but seemed to be spread pretty thin. If you need anything like a bottle of water or a snack, nothing is near by, it's a 15 minute walk. It is nestled between cheap hotels and office buildings. There is a gas station a block or so over that has some items, but did not notice that one until the cab ride to the station. We did some shopping on our last night and decided to carry our shopping bags to dinner to avoid an nearly hour round trip to drop them off at the hotel and back to dinner. If you are coming back to the hotel after dark, I would suggest a cab or uber. We got routed under a dark freeway overpass walking back through people sleeping and just hanging in the shadows. A good size spread for breakfast, but not very appetizing. The super runny scrambled eggs appeared to have paper towel in there, maybe to soak up whatever made them so runny. Hard boiled eggs were hot and fresh. This was our 4th hotel as we have traveled into Munich, then Prague, Dresden and Berlin. All city centre hotels were actually attached to the center and a 3-5 minute walk to a subway if needed. The other odd thing, this was definitely the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Germany so far and well more then the rates in Cologne and Mainz. All the rest were actual Hiltons and nearly half the price. Sadly, this is the only Hilton connected property we could find in HamBurg. Don't take a room on the front side of the hotel, seeing there is a freeway exit right out front. Your view will be noisy traffic coming off a ramp and a self storage facility. The view from the back was not bad, looks like condos or apartments and you can partially see a canal. Was pretty quiet back there. I'm a Hilton guy, so this makes it tough for me. Hamburg is great and would like to drop back in, but I doubt I would pay the super high price tag to stay so far out from everything. You really need to budget for cabs for evening returns to the hotel. There were plenty of hotels in the center of town, some on the lake, for comparable prices. If a few shops or restaurants were to open in the area, that might change the value and experience. A very nice hotel, although overpriced for the location. As we head to Cologne from Hamburg, we know the Hilton is one street from the station and maybe two to the dom and the rooms are nearly half the price of this Hampton. The Hampton did not meet our expectations we had, mostly based on price and location, one problem is easy to solve.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is helpful, they had made an error regarding the parking and they made it up at our check out. The location is 10-15 mins walk to the center of the city. The breakfast is ok.. Other than that it was a good price/performance stay.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfasts were great (a lot to choose from) and very filling. It's about 10 minutes walk to the main train station and city centre. The hotel's in a quiet area. The staff were nice too. It was worth paying and staying here. I was pleased with my stay here.

Had two rooms and two nights booked here. The hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from the railway station. Don’t let the name fool you, this hotel is not in the city center, there is nothing city or center where the hotel is located at. The name is totally misleading. False advertisement. To get here you have to walk by an open air park full of about 100 working age males doing drugs, sharing needles, urinating, hanging out, just total riffraff. Security guard at a near by building told us not to go near, not to even look at them. I did not feel safe walking to and from the hotel to get to the city center. Check in was effortless, counter staff was very courteous and friendly. The bathroom had just been cleaned with bleach and I had to leave the window open in the room for the whole day to air out the smell. Room was clean and quiet. The mattress was too hard for my liking. Breakfast area was tiny and congested but food items were wonderful, all hot food items were served hot, bacon was nice and crispy. Very friendly staff there as well. This stay was not worth the $900 I paid to stay here.
