I have never been treated worse. I was checked in to my room and half an hour later the receptionist realised I was Swedish. Just because I'm Swedish doesn't mean I'm the grim reaper. I had quarantined for 14 days before travelling through Germany on my way back to England, but that didn't seem to matter. I was told I had to leave or they would call the police. Kind of ironic as the receptionist had checked me in and I had already put all my belongings in my room, I had used the bathroom and the fridge. He then told me I had to leave. It was 10pm, I had nowhere to go and as a single woman it seems pretty irresponsible to tell me I had to find somewhere to sleep in my car or he would call the police and I would sleep in a cell. I had checked both governments' websites prior to my journey and they both said that any EU national was allowed to travel back to where they lived. I had to find a forest outside Hamburg where I could stay in my car until I was awake enough to move on. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep. I drove from 4.30am until 3pm when I reached Gent (I had to stop and have naps on the way as I had got no sleep) and checked in to the most wonderful place where there was no threats of calling the police. I am shocked that a EU citizen should be treated this way.

Dear elinorf262, I am sorry about how your experience with our house was. We are trying our best to inform all of our guest even before their arrival about the actual regulations of the city of Hamburg if we note that our guests may arrive from a high risk area. When we checked your adress you entered at the booking, we saw that it was not from sweden which was fine back then. The city of Hamburg only allowes overnight stays, if the guests have not been in a high risk area, or if they provide an attest which is not older than 48 hours. As Sweden was a high risk area (as the RKI decleares) at the time of your arrival, and you were not able to provide the attest, we had to end your stay. I whish, we could have handled this whole matter prior to your check-in. During the COVID-19 time, we recommend all of our guests from abroad or have been in a high risk area within the last 14 days, to contact us in order to check if a stay in our my4walls Serviced Apartments is possible. Best regards, Jan Schlesselmann Front Office Manager

Hamburg, For years I was connected with this great city. Due to my work and my family visit. This time choose My4walls, apartment on 10th floor, nice view. Apartment is for 2 people. It's clean, good shower heads 1 big one and small one. There is a kitchen, induction plate, strange you need to pay when use, no pots or pans to cook and even no plates..(?) I noticed the induction could not switch on..I think you need to pay fee at the reception...(?).. nevertheless the microwave worked, it is possible if you want to heat up. A fridge is built inside kitchen..handy for some drinks and food. On the ground floor they offer breakfast , diner you can prepare by your self ..cost extra fee. Or just go out side for breakfast/lunch or diner. On the opper side of the street , Hotel Holiday Inn has a Bar and restaurant..it's a free world... The pillows are very thin no extra ones. I had some issues to get into sleep because of the thin pillow. The apartment looks and feels luxury. If you are by car there is a private parking..costs 15 euros for 1 day. I parked just on the street side..it's free..but you need to have a parking place available can be busy specially during the week, the location of this apartment is between office building so employees also parking . Advice to travel in weekend it is less crowded. I Went for a weekend trip with my son to visit Planetarium, Great experience about the Galaxy! It's a 15 min walk through the "Stadt Park", nice play ground for children. If you are sporty you can run miles around...for the more relaxed ones enough space and rest for a walk in the park. The "U bahn" ( public transport) is nearby. Yes, I recommend this My4walls. Maybe I will come back

Dear rinyk2015, thank your very much for your detailed review on your trip. First of all, I would like to thank you for giving extra tips to our future guests. Sometimes we are not able to mention all the various possibilities around our my4walls, and your extra tips are perfect for a stay in Hamburg. All our apartments are equipped with pans, plates and pots. Just ask my colleagues at the front office to receive a key. This will make it possible to open all our kitchen drawers. This is possible without any extra fees. In a regular case, we have some extra pillows at our front office. Just ask my colleagues when you are here next time. Thanks again for your review. Best regards from Hamburg Jan Schlesselmann Front Office Manager

We really enjoyed our stay at My4Walls (M4W). M4W is a serviced apartment - so part way between a hotel and a rented flat. The target market is people looking for somewhere to live medium term (up to six months) perhaps on secondment or contract to a local employer, but short stays from one night are possible. Our 10 day visit was leisure and M4W was cheaper than the alternative hotels in the area. Two S-Bahn stations are within 5-10 minutes walk (on different lines) and it's about 15 minutes to get to the centre of Hamburg. We had a Deluxe room - the biggest offered - and it looks like these are situated in the corners of each floor so you have windows on two sides. This makes for a well lit room during the day! The area is mostly offices but you do get views over the city from the higher floors. The room itself was well appointed, modern, in good condition, clean and comfortable with decent storage space for a long stay. The shower is excellent and the bed very comfortable. Each room is supplied with the usual consumables (towels/bedding etc) but is cleaned weekly (and before you check in), not daily like a hotel room would be. There is no restaurant, but an all you can eat breakfast is offered for €10 each (confusingly some publicity states €15 each) which includes hot drinks, fruit juice, cereal, cold meats and cheeses, breads and so on, but the only cooked food is scrambled egg. Breakfast is served early, and for several hours, making it ideal for people going to work. We opted to have our own breakfast in the apartment most days but did try the offered breakfast one morning and found it tasty and good value. Each room has a small kitchen area (microwave/grill, two ring hob, fridge with ice box, kettle, coffee machine, toaster) plus some basic utensils (saucepans, cooking tools, crockery, cutlery, etc but frustratingly no bottle opener!). This is quite adequate for keeping some beers cold plus making simple breakfasts and evening meals, but if you don't fancy cooking for yourself or want something more complicated eating out is a better option. There is a good supermarket about 10 minutes walk away - if nothing else get some decent toilet paper as the supplied stuff is absolutely awful! Unfortunately some aspects haven't been fully thought out for the use case. For example the central breakfast bar didn't have a power socket so the only way to work at a portable computer is by trailing a cable across the kitchen floor. The large flat panel TV (on a rotating stand to serve the sofa or bed) has a small pull out desk in front of it (with adjacent sockets) but access to the rear sockets of the TV is physically blocked so it's not possible to use it as a computer display via HDMI. The room didn't have a phone - perhaps they assume everyone has a mobile these days. Also the door didn't have a spy hole making it impossible to see who was outside before opening the door. Most frustratingly the sockets and lights are only turned on when you put your room key card in a switch by the door. Thankfully this doesn't turn off the fridge but does turn off everything else including anything you may have on charge. The windows have external shutters for use at night but these don't stay down for some reason and when reported to the staff they explained they are still trying to fix this. Other items that were raised were attended to quickly and cheerfully. One final omission was the absence of any room instructions - details on cleaning, and so on. This is a great place to stay - good value and comfortable, with only a few minor problems (that are easily fixed). If you crave the comforts of a full service hotel then M4W will feel incomplete, but if you're on a budget (leisure or business) or looking for somewhere to stay longer term this is an excellent choice. I look forward to staying here again when I'm next in Hamburg.

Dear paulf_78, Many thanks for your detailed feedback regarding your last stay in our my4walls Serviced Apartments. We are more than happy to read that you liked our house and especially our apartments. I do not thing that we can add anything more detailed. But I want to let you know, that we will discuss all your suggestions for improvement as we will want to improve the my4walls continuously. Sadly, some things you mentioned cannot be changed by us. For example the possible use of the TV as a computer display. For security reasons, the building owner forbids to offer access to the HDMI ports of the TV, so we have to keep the physical blocking. For your next stay with us, we hope to be able to offer you our guest information booklet. We are finishing this already in order to offer all needed information on your apartment. We definitely look forward to welcome you again soon. Best regards Miriam Ziemer General Manager
