I stayed for 4 nights in this basic, efficient hotel which has 6 more or less identical floors. The rooms are small and spartan, but clean. Think 1970s — wood chip walls, thin, cheap carpet on the floor, hard bed, a small bathroom with shower cubicle, with a shower head that is very hard to fix in position. The room is definitely below the standards of Travelodge let alone Premier Inn. It really needs a full renovation and modernisation (USB sockets in rooms, new lighting etc) and I believe another Novum hotel nearby has had a refurbishment, which I would have loved to see. However the hotel was not expensive, well situated in terms of transport links, WiFi was easy to connect to, and the staff I spoke with were generally very good. Housekeeping came every day and changed towels etc. , they were good and polite. I did complain as hotels.com said the rooms had blackout blinds, and as you can see from the pictures, this was not true. I got nowhere. I was shown a couple of other rooms but they are all pretty much the same, one was a little better in terms of floor space but would have cost me €15 extra per night. The area is a red light district at night, the transport is great but being bang next to the train station generally isn’t the best part of any city. So there is some noise of sirens, people randomly yelling etc. But the double glazed windows can be fully closed (as well as opened). I never had breakfast at the hotel, at €8.90 few people were and the place looked completely soulless. It’s an efficient, basic hotel if all you want to do is sleep there for a night or two, but I would not recommend it for a longer stay. if you like to spend time in the room and look at nice surroundings and enjoy hotel facilities this isn’t really the place.…
Hotel is close to the central station, and walking distance from city centre. Not a nice quarter of the city, drugdealers and prostitutes on every fifth meter. Room was at first sight nice enough for the price, but when walking on the floor, I soon found out is eas very noisy. It must be horrible to have the room under mine! But not to be all in negative, the staff at the check-in was very friendly and quick 👍🏻
The room was a bit small and dated, and it faced the street, so it was impossible to keep the window open during the night. As a result, the room was quite stuffy. Fortunately the weather wasn't hot while I stayed there. There were people screaming and yelling out in the street all night - even though it was only a Tuesday! But those are the only faults I can find with this hotel. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was excellent, and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast in the time of corona was extremely basic, but quite sufficient for me. The location is excellent, just two minutes away from the main railway station.
A EXTREMELY BAD hotel for the price. Everything is cheep and you can see that only when you are in hotel room. Pictures of hotel on their web page are manipulation. This is probably the only 3* hotel in Germany, where is NO TELEPHONE in the room! On pictures and in description is telephone. Hotel security is below every level. During the stay at the hotel, someone unknown knocked on the door and persistently wanted to enter the room with the excuse that he had forgotten his passport. And than we noticed all further problems – no telephone set, no number from reception... And in addition to this no one can not reach the reception from the mobile phone, the telephone number, which they wrote is from call centre! The result - a sleepless night in a hotel room. The second morning we left the hotel unconditionally, the reception staff did not show any empathy. Unimaginable shamelessness and impertinence!…
This is a basic, rather dated hotel, with the main selling point being its close proximity to the main station. There are limited facilities (breakfast only, no bar or restaurant, and a sauna I did not use). The rooms seem to vary quite a bit but are all fairly simple. A decent number of power outlets, small TV, safe, desk and a bathroom that has a hair dryer. No iron or kettle. Pillows thin and soft, but extras can be asked for at reception. Staff helpful and efficient.
