Stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights recently. Breakfast was good. The day-shift girls in the reception were very friendly and service minded. The night-shift men were the opposite, when checking in late in the evening they guy didn't say welcome or good evening, he just stared at us under silence like we were a burden to him, we had to ask him if he needed our passports - stupid of me perhaps but I asked him timidly if the sauna was allowed to run despite the Covid situation, he snapped and said "long time ago since the sauna was open" The room was ironically hot like a sauna and despite putting the thermostat on cool nothing changed and the heat persisted - we opened the window to cool off the room but that was not a long-term solution because right outside the hotel the rail tracks are frequented like every 5 minutes and this noice was unbearable. First day our room was not cleaned or beds made - went down to the reception around 6/7pm (could not notify the staff earlier due to a business meeting) the night-shift guy laconically said "we can give you some new towels" but no excuse or saying he was sorry, I even had to insist that he should make a note of it. The showers take place in a very slippery bath tub, when exiting the bath tub my wife slipped and fell but succeeded to get hold of the towel rack before crashing on the bathroom floor.Somebody will likely break his leg or worse sooner or later. The internet connection was indeed fast but it frequently disconnected, my guess is that after 3 minutes of internet inactivity I had to log on again which was irritating. Between the room and the bathroom there was a superfluous 90 degrees sharp sill of a few centimeters, quite hard to detect day time and impossible to see night time - twice I hit my big toe into it. There was an espresso machine and a water boiler in the hotel room for coffee and tea but only two tiny espresso cups which makes a tea experience unlikely. Most hotel rooms have a minimum of two pillows per bed since some people sleep on two or when reading in the bed its far more comfortable with two pillows - not so in this hotel where the only offer is one oblong and rather flat pillow. In order to save money, I guess, the soap & schampoo bottles fixed on the wall only let go of like a milliliter at a time when pushed so a lot of pushing had to be done. We stayed already several times in Radisson Blu, Hamburg and always enjoyed our stays. Big rooms, very comfortable beds, amazing breakfast buffet and extremely friendly stuff. We will back again for sure.
Beautiful hotel, good location. Reception friendly Housekeeping staff super good, clean room Good breakfast and restaurant staff was friendly I Will for sure return again because the hotel is near to town Area, just walking distance
Stayed for two nights, booked a room with a view and breakfast. We are altogether very happy with our stay. The view from the room was absolutely astonishing! Very comfortable beds. The breakfast had everything I could ever ask for. It wasn’t very busy either and the staff working there were very friendly and cleaned the tables rapidly and kept everything top! The wine bar on the 26th floor had a really nice selection of wines. Being from Berlin the prices were a bit shocking to us at first but once we got over the shock it was all good :)! We walked everywhere from the hotel and never used public transport or taxis. We will definitely be back and can warmly recommend this hotel if you visit Hamburg.
It's a doddle to get to the hotel from the S-bahn or the U-bahn at Stephanplatz, and costs next to nothing from the airport on the great HVV rail services (less than 3 euros and 20 minutes with one change). The hotel is a giant tower with lovely views over Hamburg. It's within walking distance of the city centre and there's great jogging around the botanic gardens and the various inlets and lakes and canals. Hamburg is a lovely city. The room was quiet, attractively furnished and spacious. The Wifi worked, the lift was clean and breakfast was socially distanced but okay. It has been months since I had a signature hotel full fry up with bacon and sausage and mushrooms and scrambled egg, so I was very happy. There's a wine bar on the 26th floor which is great for a glass of reisling and a bite to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful. The fitness centre is open 24 hour but to meet social distancing rules, you have to get the key from the reception. The rate I paid was really good value and I would return, no problem (although I would request proper milk with the tea service in the room, not powdered).…
