A very pleasant hotel in a quiet district close to the centre. My room was simple and clean with a well-equipped bathroom. The staff were absolutely perfect and the breakfast was great. Ideal for a stay in Hamburg.
Very nice little hotel in a wonderful old building from the late 19th century , close to Außenalster, district Rotherbaum. Very safe district. It is just 15 minutes walk to Jungfernstieg. The hotel was recently renovated. Compared to the large hotel it is nice to have here more personal relationships. Breakfast is nice and sufficient. The hotel staff is very friendly and supportive.
We stayed at this hotel in June 2018 for 3 nights. The room faced to the rear gardens and was more than quiet. It had a huge terrace we could have used but didn‘t because of time constraints. The bed was perfect as was the rest of the room. The bathroom was incorporated at a later stage. This spoils the character of the room somewhat but definitely better than a bathroom across the hall as it used to be. The breakfast served in a charming setting on the ground floor left nothing to be desired. One tip: in June don‘t come by car. Not that sidewalk parking is not available but the magnificent lime trees will ruin the lacquer of your car.
The hotel is very close to the train station Dammtor and the university campus, which makes it a top choice for those coming for work or study at the Uni. The area is very nice, as it is enlivened by the university life - lots of bars, restaurants and shops around. Not far from the city center and the Alster either. The hotel is in a former house that was nicely adapted, though it could use an update in the rooms. Some very basic new items - such as confortable pillows - would definitely make a change for the better (the mattress could be a bit more confortable too). Spotlessly clean, though floors are all over covered with carpets - not great for the allergic souls. Some strange particularities - the lift, for example, can only be used until 10 PM in order "not to disturb the guests' rest", so if you're staying, as I did, in the third floor, do get ready for late hour exercise. All in all, good quality for the price.…
