This hotel is a little quirky. You do have to like dogs, there were three lounging around reception on booking in. I don't really have a problem but I could see it being a struggle for someone with allergy to dogs. I had a very noisy room - facing the front (where a lorry started pumping fuel oil at 6:15am and finished 90 minutes later) and next to the small lift. There's no double glazing and the windows don't close very well with no aircon. I could see this being very cold in the winter if the heating is poor and it was too hot on my stay. So not much sleep. At night there is a little garden with low lighting for a quiet drink and that was very charming. The shower was fine if a little jaded and the WiFi seemed to work OK. It's easy to get the Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and so to the airport. It was all just a bit odd and quite expensive as well. …
Nice hotel. Relatively small but great hospitality. Rooms with nice high ceilings (old building). Area is vey nice in the neighborhood of the Alster but also the Lange Reihe (lots of restaurants) If you want something else than the standard hotel.
Nice room, high ceilings with windows practically the full height of the room. Room spotlessly clean, nice fluffy towels. Room had tea & coffee making facilities, not usual for a German hotel. Breakfast was really nice, good choice and plenty of it. The restauarant opens put into a little courtyard which catches the morning sun. A lovely way to start the day in summer. Hotel is situated a short distance away from the main bahnhof, ideal for commuting. A 5 min walk in one direction takes you to Lange Reihe, which is awash with lovely cafes, restaurants & bistros offering a wide range of cuisines. A 5 min walk in the other direction takes you to the Alster where a walk along the river bank on a balmy summer evening with a bottle of cold beer was fab.
Smallish (however appearances may deceive) hotel bit apart from touristic center, but I consider that a good thing, because it's about 15 minute walk (or maybe quicker by public transport, but I felt no need). Hotel is quiet, clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast were not lavish, but very sufficient (even with occasional specialties, like assortment of fish or fresh salmon). It's about fifty meters to the Alster lake for joggers, cyclist or just a nice walks. Wifi is not of the fastest kind, and come on, wifi captive portal in 21st century?
A very nice small hotel tucked out of the way. The hotel is very central to the the city centre and only a 5 minute walk to the Aussen Alster Lake. No complaints €108 including breakfast in Hamburg for 2 booked through Booking.com so prices I'm sure will vary. Room clean, bed comfortable...bathroom OK...old but serviceable. Breakfast 5 star, plenty to choose from and plenty of it.
